Kristi Ferro, owner of Hanna Stamps is giving away a brand new yet to be released stamp set called "Things Hanna Would Say". Definately Pumpkin as its the only time of year we have it. I actually made 2 of them today so we could have some the day before and the day after.
ReplyDeletepumpkin of course and I dabbled with the idea of making one this year with from scratch crust, but then I tasted costco's from a luncheon yesterday and was SOLD on that...it's the yummiest ever & just $5.99 for a HUGE pie. I am excited about this set!!

ReplyDeletePies! Oh, they are the best....out of all pie types and flavors my favorite is my boyfriends Mom makes a Butternut Squash pie...I could eat several. If that is not around then Apple pie is my fav! Happy Thanksgiving!

ReplyDeleteI dont make sweet pies-but I love squash pie--its really an entree to me. thick and aromatic, I sometimes top it with roasted corn and garlic.
ReplyDeleteAdmittedly I really don't love that many pies. My favorite is one my Mom would make for me and my Dad and we call it Lemon Pucker Pie. He and I are the only two who eat it. Sadly, because he and I are the only two to eat it....it doesn't make the cut for Thanksgiving dinner. So I guess by default my favorite is Pumpkin.

My favorite pie is Apple pie, but you have to have pumpkin too! I have to have just a little piece of that too, or it's not Thanksgiving.

Mom's pumpking pie.
ReplyDelete3/4 brown sugar
1 tbl flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 1/4 tsp pumpkin spice
1 1/2 cups pumpkin
1 1/2 cups evaporated milk
1 slightly beaten egg
2 tbl dark molasses
Mix sugar, flour, salt, and spice. Add rest of ingredients and stir until smooth. Pour into 9" pie pan lined with unbaked pastry. Bake in very hot oven (450) 15 min. Reduce heat to (325) and bake until firm or about 40 min. Cool before serving.
Serve with a dollop of Cool Whip of choice and sprinkle with Pumpkin Pie Spice.
Every time I make this people fall over. Very Yummy!

Well, I am so not a pumpkin pie fan, but I do love Impossible Pie. It is a pie that has no crust. You just mix all the ingredients together in a bowl and you end up with a custardy coconut pie. Terrible for the waist line, but ABSOLUTELY TO DIE FOR!! :-)
