fridge chalkboard & the fair

Good morning!
I'm sharing a fridge chalkboard with y'all today.
Some time ago, I was checking out my friend LZ's blog and I saw this chalkboard hanging on her fridge. I thought "hmmmmm, I have a little chalkboard in my altering stash that's been there forever, I'm going to do this, WOOHOO"
I don't even remember where I got the chalkboard, I'm sure it was cheap though. It has ruler markings all around it. I dirtied up the frame and the Scrabble tile holder with my Ranger Distress Walnut Stain. I glued the tile holder on the front with E6000.
I really love Wendy Vecchi's flowers she makes from Grunge paper, so I thought I'd give that try with my Peony Spellbinders dies and Big Shot. I punched the butterfly with my Martha butterfly punch & the tiny heart from a heart punch. The swirls are from Tim Holtz's Grungeboard. I inked up the flowers with Fired Brick and painted on Fired Brick Distress Stickles. The butterfly is sponged with Broken China Distress ink. I stamped the 'don't forget' and cut out each letter and glued them on the top. I added some vintage buttons. Look at this red gingham button, isn't it cool? It looks like there is fabric on the back of it. I clipped the Tim Holtz clip on top to hold notes, coupons, etc.

The rhinestones on the butterfly are from a cheap necklace I bought at a flea market. The buttons are threaded with linen thread. I glued 4 magnets on the back with E6000 and the chalkboard is stuck proudly on my fridge right now! You can get all of the Tim Holtz supplies at Starlit Studio or ePaperie~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We went to the Old Soldiers Reunion in Heber Springs last Saturday night. It's a small fair or carnival type thing. It's been called the Old Soldiers Reunion forever.
I took a few pic's of my grand babies. This is my girls on our way.
This is Jasmine, she's 2, she was not happy riding the merry-go-round.

This is Jr., at least that's what me and pop call him, he looks like he's saying whatsyoulookinat?! The only time he smiled was at the little girl riding next to him, LOL!
We had a fun time drinking lemonade and eating cotton candy!
I hope you have a great day, thanks for stopping by!

I thought I'd show you some pink flower pic's since I'm focusing on pink today. They are called naked ladies or surprise lilies. They grow just foilage in the Spring and the foilage dies down and you think they are dead, then the next thing you know these pretty flowers pop up. No leaves or foilage on the stems. This is a picture of a clump of them in my flower bed. Here is a closeup of one of the blooms. It's just shimmering in the sun light, I hope you can see that!
Have a great day, thanks for stopping by!

New Crafty Secrets Postcard Kits!

Hi all! It's Halloween in July Smiley from millan.net

The Crafty Secrets DT got the go ahead from Sandy
Redburn to show sneak peeks of the new Vintage Postcard Kits that will debut at CHA! I can't wait for y'all to see them, they are FUN with so many possibilities! I used the Halloween kit to make a banner. The kits come with images, a stamp set and chipboard postcards and small chipboard pieces you can use.

I used paper from an old record book for my background paper and stamped them with some of the stamps that come with the Halloween Kit and colored them in with Copics.
I glittered up a chipboard b for the first banner piece and the big black buttons are the o's, it spells out boo!

I cut out some of the images and glued them on the chipboard.

Check out the Crafty Secrets blog to hear about all the new kits, there are 4 of them coming out and 4 coming out later. Sandy is having a give away, make sure you go to the blog and leave a comment for your chance to win! You can see more of the DT creations too!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
