new Crafty Secrets Journal Notes!

I'm sure you've heard about the new Journal Notes Booklets by now if you're a Crafty Secrets follower! Let me tell you these are full of the best vintage images you'll ever see in 4 little booklets! The ideas were just flowing looking at the all the images, perfect for your scrapbooking, journaling and all your paper crafts! Make sure and keep checking back here, I'm going to be doing some blog blooms soon and giving away some of these booklets, stay tuned!
Look at this gorgeous iris image, this was the first one I picked to make a card with, I love this vintage image, so pretty! It's done using the cracked glass technique.

Supplies: Paper - EarthyPaper Pad, iris image from the Birds & Botanicals Booklet , Basic Black CS, old dictionary page, see the thumb tabs on the side? Ink - VersaMark pad. Acces. - black glitter, clear embossing powder, buttons, linen thread, ribbon, Dimensionals.

This is the old dictionary I got at a flea market to use in my paper crafts. I distressed the page more with my 7gypsies Walnut Ink. I used one of my misters and poured just a few granules in and filled it up with water, I love the "old" look when sprayed on paper!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Look at this clematis bloom, when I down loaded the picture it just took my breath away, it's beautiful! I had to put it on my desktop so I could enjoy it for awhile!
Look at all the pollen all over, blech. You should see my car, it's a neon green! Thank goodness I don't have allergies!
Have a happy Monday everyone, I hope you see some pretty blooms today!
Hanna does Dallas & OMG!
This card is for Cami's challenge HSC13 over at SCS in the Hanna Stamps forums. We were to use polka dots, pink and flowers are a bonus Ü
I did the paper piecing again, I think I have done that technique on every Hanna I've done. It's like playing with paper dolls, I like dressing her with my pattern papers!
Supplies: CS - Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, My Paper Studio, GP white. Stamps - Hanna Stamps! Ink - Ranger Distress Walnut Stain, Chocolate Chip marker, Copic markers. Acces. - Scallop, slit and circle punches, Stickles, Spica glitter pen, ribbon, Prima flowers, Cuttlebug dots embossing folder.
Let me tell you what happened yesterday after I got home from work. I looked out and saw a skunk walking in my yard toward my house. Oh yeah, grab the camera!!! I snuck around the house to get closer and started talking to (lets call him/her Skunky) Ü, so he would stop and look at me, it worked! (the pink petals on the ground are from my tree) I was sweet talking him and he started walking toward me.....I high tailed it to the door and inside!
I went and looked out and he came on the porch, walked down to the front door and look in, he was wanting in my house, LOL!!! I couldn't believe it, he looked in for a minute and jumped off the porch and made him a little bed up against the house, OMG. A couple of years ago there was a female that got under our house and had babies, she would come and go through the vent somehow. Terry fixed the vent and they went away, thank goodness they didn't spray!!
I wonder if this is her coming back to have more babies, YIKES!
When you have time go on over to SCS in Hanna's Forum and check out the other challenge cards! Thanks for stopping by!
I want to show you the goodies I got yesterday in Mtn. View. I bet I walked 10 miles, was I ever tired, LOL!
This is a Shawnee Pottery wall pocket. I have a huge collection of wall pockets. I stopped buying them though unless I just fell in love with it and the price was right! Most of them are packed away after we painted, LOL!
This pink dessert dish.
These shakers and stamps. I'm collecting odd shakers for my glitter.
Crocheted butterflies, BUTTONS, flower frog, Santa.
Here's a close-up of Santa. I just love him! The same lady made the Santa and the vintage tags.
There is a quilt shop in Mtn. View that I just love, it's called Ritsy Rags, I have to go in there every time I go shopping there and see what new stuff she's got in. I got these little hangers there and a couple of charms and this gorgeous bracelet, OMG!
Isn't it the sweetest? You pick out which bracelet you want and then you can pick out the silver charms you want to put on it. Seeing as how I'm a button fanatic, I had to have a button and scissors of course, LOL!
I hope y'all have a great Sunday, it's supposed to get to 80 today, YIPPEE!!!!
wildflower pocket card
This is another one of the new Crafty Secrets medium sets called Wildflowers. I just love flower stamps, seems I can't get enough of them, especially iris! I'm getting a collection going of iris stamps, my friend QC sent me one that's gorgeous, I have it in a display cabinet on my wall. I like to display and look at some of my wood mounted rubber stamps, someday they will be collectors items I'm afraid. I decided I wanted to make a pocket card to hold these seed packets. Love all the pretty flowers and dragonflies in this set!
Supplies: Stamps - Crafty Secrets Wildflowers get them from Crafty Secrets or Sweet & Sassy Crafts. Ink - Ranger Distress Walnut Stain, Copic markers and Spica glitter pens. Paper - Crafty Secrets Earthy Paper Pad, Prism sunflower light. Acces. - ribbon, word window punch, paper distresser, brads, seed packets.
Are you ready to plant your garden? You may already have it in the ground if you are farther south. We try and do a few tomatoes and peppers every year. Mmmm, I can taste the garden veggie's now, mmmmmm. No more fried squash and okra for me though, I'm trying to learn to change my way of eating, it will have to be stir fried, which is really good too!
I used to make a new flower bed every year, I've stopped that, I can't seem to keep up with them! I think stamping has taken over, that's all I want to do when I'm not at work, LOL!
We are heading to my mom's Saturday, it's Folk Festival time in Mtn. View. We will go up there in time for the parade and then we'll head off to do some shopping in the craft booths, antique stores and flea markets, ahhh, my kind of weekend!!
I hope your weekend is filled with stuff you love to do!
Have a happy Friday, thanks for stopping by!
my alpha paint can
After I saw my friends Lana & LZ's Stampendous paint cans I just had to make one for myself!
I ordered the can and all the alpha's from ePaperie. They are just the cutest, perfect size to cut out or just stamp for scrapbooking, altered items or cards. Each letter has itty bitty accent stamps to decorate it with, so stinkin' cute, I just love them! When you click on the ePaperie link above you can see all the letters up close.
Supplies: Stamps - Stampendous My Favorite Letters. Ink - Ranger Distress Walnut Stain, Copic markers from Hanna Stamps, ePaperie or Ellen Hutson. Paper - The Paper Studio.
Acces. - May Arts ribbon from StarLitStudio, scalloped circle, circle & flower punches, Creative Memories circle cutter, button, Nestabilities from Ellen Hutson.
When I was finishing up my paint can this morning, I looked over to the window and saw Bunchie looking out. This beautiful kwanzan cherry tree in my front yard is in full bloom now, the blooms are huge, it looks like a giant bouquet of flowers! The tree doesn't fruit, it's just pretty to look at!
I hope y'all have a blooming day,
Riley Gardens & Hot Springs
Here is Riley in his flower garden with his paper pieced rubber boots and watering can! I got the felt flowers and rick rack at Hobby Lobby in the Easter stuff. This is a matchbook card, it opens from the bottom. The sentiment is from the set Things Hanna Would Say. He is so ready for the warm sunshiny weather, me too!
It's supposed to be in the 70's today, but, storms are expected for the next few days, ugh. We have had enough rain for now, geeeez. We went to Hot Springs over the weekend and went shopping downtown where all the shops are, some of them were closed do to flooding, it was bad, the water was up to the tops of car tires, dang. This is a historic area and the buildings are old and beautiful, what a shame. Here are a few pic's I took of the area.
This rock looks like it was covered with cement or something and it's breaking away. People are not allowed to park in the row next to the wall.
We went to Oaklawn to the horse races too! I won BIG! I bet $2 on a horse named Daughtry to win, he did, I was so excited. After taxes I was $15.67 richer, LOL! Here are some pic's of the races, I didn't get a pic of my winning horse, I was to excited to take pic's at that time, LOL! The poor jockeys were just covered in mud, the track was so muddy.
Seems I'm having problems moving my pic's around today, pffft. When I'm doing the post they look great, but when I look at the preview they are all in a line, what's up with that? Oh well, at least you can see them.
The dogwoods were in full bloom there, they are further south than we are. Ours should be blooming in the next couple of weeks. The woods are just full of them, those and redbuds in early Spring.
Well, I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!
Thanks a bunch my friend!
This is a window card I made for my friend Val, thanking her for the blogaversary gift certificate I won on her blog from eP! I love eP and I love winning, I nevah do that, LOL! Thanks again Val!
The card is made with paper from the Crafty Secrets Pastel Paper Pad. I used my Creative Memories circle cutter to cut the window in the center. The image from the Sweet Kids stamp set is stamped on the inside along with 2 sentiment stamps from the set, thanks a bunch and my friend. I stamped with Ranger Distress Walnut Stain and colored with Copic markers. I glued Prima flowers around the window and put buttons in the center of each flower. I tied some trim from Wal-Mart around the top of the card.
Another work day for me today. Looks like we're in for more rain too, is it evah gonna STOP?! Eh, yeah, about August I'd say. Ü
