OCL For-bitten tag & Twilight candy

Happy Monday people!
Yep, that's me. I'm not ready for Monday this morning, I think I'm allergic to working on Monday's, my eye is itchy and swollen. Actually that happened yesterday, it was so itchy and this morning it is swollen, what's up with that?! Ugh.

Here's another OCL For-bitten project, man I can't help myself, this set is so fun to work with. I think the wolf image is so cool, you have to get some Sparkly Fluff in Coffee Bean, that's what I used here or Eyeliner Black. I blinged up my moon, bat and juicy lips with Ice Crystal & Eyeliner black Crafty Sparkles! See my skull dude, I got him at a flea market Saturday at Mtn. View. I thought he'd make some great Halloween decor! I think he's supposed to ride a motorcycle, he has Chopper logos on his hands & tennies.

Look at the New Moon candy I got at the $1 store, they are cream filled chocolate hearts. This tag and candy would make a great gift for a Twilight fan, don'tcha think?!

I covered the tag with a book page and sponged some Ranger Distress Vintage Photo, Dusty Concord & Broken China ink on with my blender tool. I added pieces of Daisy D's Cool Me Down paper.

More supplies: other paper - Georgia Pacific white from Wal-Mart, black card stock. Ink - Copic markers. Acces. - oval book plate & brads, Tim Holtz Adage story ticket, sticky crystals, black twill trim with snaps & bells from Wal-Mart, lace flower, ribbon, button, black hemp, Glossy Accents. Tools - tracing wheel, Martha Stewart bat, fern, crown, lace border, icicle border punches, circle punch for moon.

Housework Stinks and Star Rocks!

Housework. Don't ya just hate it?! I don't know, I think some people enjoy it, blech, not me! Although it's nice when it's done, maybe I need to hire a cleaning lady. Yeah, right.

When I saw this image in the Crafty Secrets Girlfriends Images & Journal Notes booklet of the lady and the wringer washer, I had to make a card for my friend Lana. She was so funny at the retreater commenting on my southern way of talking

Supplies: Stamps - gingham background stamp. Paper - red & black card stock, Georgia Pacific white, image from Crafty Secrets Girlfriends Image & Journal Notes booklet. Ink - red classic pad. Acces. - ribbon, button, felt flower, black brads. Tools - nestie scalloped rectangle, slit punch, Scor-Pal, swiss dots Cuttlebug folder, Big Shot, Round-it-all. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I made this Thank You card for someone who is very generous and she loves to color and design!

I started out sewing on my card and my Janome mini sewing machine was giving me fits. The thread got hung up and then the needle wouldn't pick up the bobbin thread. Pfffffft. I couldn't get it to work. I have NO patience for sewing machines when they aren't running smoothly! Needless to say I only got the top of the cardstock sewn. The eggplant cardstock was a left over piece that I had when I used my coil binding machine. I liked the holes on the side.
OK, back to Star Rocks
Star is my fave girly OCL stamp! I love her hair, the fact she's a rocker and I can relate to the peace sign and lava lamp!! Have you noticed all the peace sign stuff coming back in style? Cooool.

Crafty Clipboard

Hi! The long weekend will be over in a couple of hours. Back to the grindstone. It's supposed to warm up here, in the 90's this week, back to summer, YAY!

I've had this Crafty clipboard in my head for awhile and I finally got around to making it. I used Crafty Secrets Creative Scraps Calendar & Girlfriends, the clipboard came from Office Depot.

I painted the clip with Crackle paint, when it dried and was nice and crackly I tried to paint on the Mod Podge it took the paint off. pffffft. So I covered it up with book pages and Mod Podged over the paper.


I covered the clipboard with book pages and inked up the edges with Ranger Distress Vintage Photo ink and a blender tool. Then the fun part, I cut out my scraps and arranged them how I wanted them on the cliupboard and glued thwm on with Mod Podge. I painted Mod Podge over the whole thing when I was done to protect the paper from use.

I threaded the vintage buttons with linen thread and glued them on with E6000.

I hope y'all had a great weekend. We just hung around here. It rained all day Saturday, I worked in the craft room yesterday and today we took the grandgirls to the park. They played with Pop on the swings and monkey bars while I walked around the walking path. A good day!

OCL Spotlight Set of the Week & some sweet faces

Who needs cupcakes when you can have Reeces peanutbutter cups?
I put peppermint candy spinkles on 2 of them, mmmmmmm!

I stamped the images and cut them out with my Spellbinders Labels 4 Nestibilities. I dirtied them up with my Ranger Distress Vintage Photo ink and blender tool. I used my yummy Coffeebean Crafty Sparkles on the wolf, Ice Crystals on the glossy lips and Rockstar Red Sparkly Fluff on the heart and blood drop....ewooo....sparkly

I glued beads around the wolf with Ranger Glossy Accents, I made a bead around the edge
and sprinkled the beads on and let it dry. I cut 2 labels for each one and sandwiched a toothpick between the 2 and glued them together with Zip Dry glue.

We went to Mtn.View last Saturday and took mom to out to eat at JoJo's on the White River, it's beautiful there! After we were done we went out to the deck to look at the river at I took a few shots of Pop and Jaz. Look at those sweet, sweet curls, I would LOVE to have those curls!


Here's a pic I took a couple of months ago. Everytime I look at it I have to laugh. Doesn't it look like they are in deep conversation?! I love it!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Crafty Secrets Postcard Challenge

It's Crafty Secrets challenge time again!
Sandy challenged the design team to use the new Vintage Postcard Kits. I've been having fun with the Halloween kit, I decided to use the Storytime Kit for this challenge.

I used the kit cover image for this hanger.

I made my hanger Zappy (Lisa Zappa) style using a vintage postcard. I used a couple of SU! flower eyelets (retired) and copper wire for the hanger. The buttons are from my vintage button stash and they threaded with cotton string. Everything is distressed with Ranger Distress Vintage Photo ink and my blending tool. The words Dream & Imagine are stamps in the kit. There is Vicki trim on the bottom gifted to me from Zappy.

Here I used a couple of the chipboard pieces and images in the kit, I used my tracing wheel to get the faux stitches.

This is one of the stamp images that's in the kit. See the glittery pin? I got those from ePaperie, they are plastic at the top and pastel colors. I smeared some glue on it and dipped it in some glitter. You can have any glittery color you want doing this!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~This is a passion flower vine growing in one of my flower beds. They grow wild in fields around here. It grows a fruit, avacado size, they seeds inside are supposed to be a good for making a tea that relaxes you. I've never tried it. I'm chicken, LOL!

Apparently, an Augustine monk made a sketch of this New World blossom in the early 1600s and brought it back to Rome, where it caused quite a stir. Perhaps coincidentally, perhaps providentially, each part of the flower could be linked to elements in the story of Christ's Passion. The 10 petals (actually five petals and five sepals) represented the 10 apostles at the crucifixion, the filaments represented Jesus' crown of thorns or halo, the five anthers were the wounds and the three stigmas were the nails. Crafty Secrets Postcard Halloween Treat Box & Bunchie in a basket

Only about 2 months until Halloween, my fave holiday for paper crafting! The new Crafty Secrets Postcard Kits are so much fun to use for wall hangers, albums, banners and now little treat boxes!

I got this package of favor boxes at the $1 store a long time ago and never used them. I got this idea to make the Halloween treat box with them. I had to hunt them down in my alterable stuff crate...ugh. The stuff I have in there would last me an alterable life time I think!

I cut the handles off one of them so they wouldn't show, I wanted to make my own handles out of ribbon anyway.

I cut one end off of 2 postcard pieces so they would sit level when I adhered them to my favor box. I did the front and back of the postcard pieces with the papers, stamps and chipboard pieces that come in the kit.I used paper from the Earthy Paper Pad on the sides & back of the box. I stamped the back with some of the stamps that come in the kit.
Here is a sucker cover I made with scalloped & circle punches.
...and a pumpkin girly. I cut her out of one of the papers in the kit and glued her on a piece of card stock for stability and cut her out again. The stick she's on is a recycled wooden sucker stick, I colored it with a black Copic marker. She's glued on to 2 Prima flowers and the stick is stuck in to a wine bottle cork, I started a hole in the cork with my awl. I glued 3 buttons on a stick pin and stuck that through the flowers. Everything is distressed with Ranger Distress Vintage Photo ink.

Terry was outside weedeating one day last week and he came inside and told me to come and look at something. There were 2 little bitty baby bunnies trying to hide in some moss growing on a big rock on the side of our yard. One of the little guys ran off and this little one hunkered down trying to hide. I got several pictures and I even petted him with my finger.
That kinda freaked him out a little and he jumped down on another level of the rock and I got this picture. Look at those tiny ears, so cute!
