Genevieve & a give away!

While I'm waiting on my Crafty Secrets goods, I thought I'd share the card I made for my friend Bethie and baby Genevieve. I thought the paper by Making Memories was perfect for a new baby, it has the cutest words on it. I used the SU! set Priceless and matching Classy Brass template for the embossed flowers on the peach cardstock and the butterfly trail paper piercing.

Oh! You need to go check out Vicki Chrisman's blog, she's having a SUPER give away.....it's a ScrapMuse kit full of yummy goodies to play with!! You never know, you may just win, how FUN would that be?!!

I've been wanting to do the blog candy thing, I just need to take the time to do it!
Stay tuned Ü

make a wish

My friend Lana had a couple of challenges going for us
last weekend. I did the layout & bright colors.

Isn't that little chick cute? She's one of the Stampendous Calendar chicks, I got her in an image swap at the retreat. Joy and Daisy carry Stampendous stamps at Eclectic Paperie . I got a chick in my order yesterday, I hope to make a card with it soon!

The flower in the top left corner is a velvet flower by Maya Road, the center is a flat marble type thing I got in the bead dept. at Wal-Mart. They come several to a bag. I just glued it on. The yummy ribbon is by May Arts from StarLit Studio, it's bright pink organdy with black dots.

Supplies:
SU! Only Orange, Pixie Pink, Whisper White & Basic Black cardstock, Only Orange & Pixie Pink Classic ink, Paisley, sentiment from the Big Bold Birthday set, Dimensionals, Corner punch with the guide removed for the scalloped edges. Ranger Archival black ink and Copic markers. I can't remember the name of the paper, I'm sure some of you know what it is.

Oh, oh, oh, speaking of my order I got yesterday from Electic Paperie, I got 4 bottles of Glimmer Mist too! Mmmmm, the bottles are so pretty lined up with the pretty colors of glimmer inside,
I almost hate to use it, I said almost :)

Kewpie's & Take Ten

Aren't these Kewpie's just the sweetest?! I had so
much fun coloring them. Notice my Kewpie's have hair, I just couldn't leave them bald. On the butterfly Kewpie card I divided the sentiment because it was to long to fit where I wanted it. The outside says "Dear to me near to me all the way thru..." inside it says "special original wonderful you".

Supplies:
SU! cardstock - Whisper White & Basic Black.
Crafty Secrets Radiant paper pad from Sassy & Sweet Crafts, Crafty Secrets Kewpie's & Card Sentiments stamps, Cuttlebug Bow Frame embossing folder, Tape Writer Kit & Copic markers from Eclectic Paperie. May Arts ribbon, black brads & Quickie glue pen from StarLitStudio. Maya Road Velvet Blossoms. Martha Stewart White Gold Glitter. Giga scallop square & 2 1/2 square punches by Marvy Utica.

This is the inside of the Kewpie & bunny card. I used the Tape Writer Kit from Joy & Daisy at Eclectic Paperie. It's so cool, it comes with the pink tape and 2 wheels, one for upper case and one for lower case. You can get tape refills in pretty colors too. If you can't read it, it says "some bunny loves you".

When I got home from the retreat I was tickled to see my comp copy of the fall issue of Take Ten! There is a 3 page article on my big clip bookmarks. You can go to the Stampington website here, (click on Publications, click on Take Ten) and see the first 2 pages on there, just scroll down.

What a great day we had. We went to Conway to see the babies :) Jasmine got her little ears pierced, so cute! Crystal said she did real good through it. She has quite the temper now, it's really funny to watch, I couldn't help but laugh. Jayde got her long hair cut, she looks so cute with her new style. She started kindergarten this year, she's growing up on us!
I went to Hobby Lobby and got some boxes for my non-SU! stamps, some paper and a few stamps, of course!

This is the last who-rah for the summer, the lake is jam packed. I have been feeling fall in the air the last couple of mornings, cold weather is around the corner, ugh. I hope y'all have a great Labor Day weekend, be safe!

Retreat!!

I know I've been missing in action, seems I can't get caught up!

I have been to a FUN retreat with many of my best friends, I just wish all of them could have been there this year! It was last Thursday thru Sunday. Mine started a couple of days early because of travel time, but, I got to stay with Tex and I got meet Jessica Witty, Tex's daughter and Sharon Harnist, what a surprise that was! Sharon and I joined the DD together at the same time on SCS.

Then we went to stay with Zappy at the crack house and my Joyful one was with us too, what an amazing time!

When Pine posted the list of those of us going she put a winking smiley face in instead of my name. I was the secret winker. It was so much fun watching the girls guess who the winker was, most of them were really surprised! We all had a blast doing the classes, stamping, laughing, eating and crying. There are not words to express how I feel about this group of talented women, we all truly care for each other and we always will!

Thank you Piney for putting the retreat together and thanks to HB and Maria too for the yummy food! Oh, Stevie and Suze thank you too!

I miss y'all so much!

See ya tamarrah Lana, after I get my worshing done ;)

Big Bold Birthday in polkadots

This is the new Big Bold Birthday set by Stampin' Up! I love the big cupcake image. The circle tag is a new set too, Think Happy Thoughts, it's a level 1 hostess set. Oh, and the paper is new, it's the Designer Series Paper - Cerise, all red and vanilla designs.

I stamped the vanilla card base with the SU! Canvas stamp and Real Red classic ink. Then I stamped the little flower from Big Bold Birthday over that. I stamped the cupcake bottom on vanilla card stock, then I stamped icing on the back side of the patterned paper, cut it out and adhered it to the cupcake. I made some lines around the image with my Real Red marker. I snipped off a corner of a scalloped punched square, added red Stickles and adhered it to the corner. The side scallop was made with my corner punch with the guide removed. I stamped the circle tag with Think Happy Thoughts on vanilla, adhered it to a Real Red punched circle and added some red Stickles around the edge. There is a vanilla button in the center with a sliver of RR card stock through the button holes. I added the red and white polkadot ribbon from StarLitStudio and popped up the tag with Dimensionals.

I hope y'all have a super Sunday!
As for me, I'll be staying in the house most of the day, baby, IT'S HOT outside! It's supposed be around 103 again today, and no rain, we are so dry around here, ugh.

ATC clock

I got the clock at Target in the $1 spot, it was a $2.50 item. I thought I would alter it and use it in my stamp room for cards. I decided full size cards were to big and the ATC's would be perfect! I used my Creative Memories cutting system to cut the cardstock for the clock face. I stamped it, and then I punched a circle from scrap cardstock to fit around the clock center and used it as a template, I traced it on the flower center. Then, I cut a slit from the edge of the stamped clock face to the traced circle and cut it out. I slipped the stamped piece on the clock and adhered it with E6000. I adhered the pink crystals and that was it!

Supplies: SU! Stamps - Polka-Dot Posies, little flower from Big Bold Birthday, Classic Alpha Numbers, Linen. Cardstock - Confetti Cream. Ink - Close To Cocoa, Regal Rose, Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip. Acces. - pink crystals, E6000, 5/8" punch.

I hope you have a great day, thanks for stopping by!

inspire me funky

I wanted to make a notebook for sketches, tips, clippings and ideas. I found this one with grid paper in it at Office Depot. I love the grid paper for sketches.

I decided to put a big ol' honkin' flower on the front using my Pick A Petal set from SU! I love the Basic Grey Blush paper, I thought it turned out pretty funky!

I had the notebook done and ready for the sentiment in the bottom corner, I was going to use the standard 'create', had it stamped, punched and ready to go. Later in the day I was blog hopping and went to Nichole Heady's blog (have you seen her new studio pic's? OMW!) and she had linked to Jeanette's blog. I was drooling over her pic's and saw "Inspire Me" on a wall, PERFECT, love that! So, I went with "inspire me" for my sentiment on my notebook, I thought it worked!

Supplies: grid paper notebook, May Arts ribbon from StarLitStudio, Basic Grey Blush paper, vanilla cardstock, Ruby Red, Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Chip classic ink, walnut ink, small copper flower brads by Making Memories, corner punch, 1/16" punch, corner rounder punch, small scalloped punch, scalloped scissors, sponge dauber, SU!'s little flower stamp from the Big Bold Birthday set, Pick A Petal set, and the swirly stamp from Baroque Motifs, metal book corners and setter, red button and E6000.

I'm headed to my mom's at Mtn.View, my niece Tracy from Springfield, MO. is there and Crystal and the girls, I'm sure we'll find some girly things to do!

Have a wonderful Saturday!

Heartspeak

The flower basket image is from SU!'s new Heartspeak stamp set, I love this set! Lots of detail on the image for coloring. Love the vintage look of it too. Other new sets I used are Friend by Definition and Party Punch.

I colored it with my Copic markers and used craft white for the white flowers, just painted it on with a paint brush. I believe it was JulieHRR who said you could color brads with Copic's, I tried it on this silver brad, it works like a charm!

Supplies: Cardstock - Sahara Sand, Purely Pomegranate, Blue Bayou and Chocolate Chip. Ink - Copic markers, craft white, Chocolate Chip, Walnut by Ranger. Stamps - Heartspeak, Friend by Definition, Party Punch and Itty Bitty Backgrounds. Acces. - silver brad, 1/16" hole punch, round tab punch, corner punch, scalloped scissors, sponge dauber, dimensionals, cutter kit and a prima flower.

I hope y'all have a happy Monday!

Thanks for looking!
