birthday boxes

Are you ready for the trick or treaters tonight?? I am, I just have a few that come by, since my kids are grown I don't get the crowds like I used to. But, it's fun seeing the little goblins, I think the parents have just as much fun as the kids!

I had to have this stamp, I LOVE the stacked boxes. It's by Inkadinkado, I got it at a LSS. You can use it for birthday's or Christmas, any occasion where there is gifts involved! The paper is Daisy D's Beacon Hill 8 x 8 paper pad and SU! Chocolate Chip, Ruby Red and GP white. The image is colored with Copic markers from eclecticPaperie, the sentiment is from Crafty Secrets A Sexy Little Number set, get that from eP or Sassy & Sweet Crafts. The glitter around the image is Martha Stewart's Brownstone. The ribbon is by May Arts from StarLitStudio.
I hope y'all have a SPOOOKY Halloween!
Be safe!

polka dot Hanna

I loved all the polka dots in the Memory Box Christmas Brights Collection cardstock from
Ellen Hutson, LLC. I decided Hanna was going polka doted in this Christmas card. This Hanna is from the 'Tis the Season' set from Hanna Stamps, eclecticPaperie will have this set soon, if they don't already! I put as many polka dots as I could on here, her clothes, I paper pieced those, background, tree and the ribbon. The little Christmas balls on the tree are red Dot Sparklers stickers by Stampendous that I got at Archiver's when I went on the retreat. Holy cow, are they evah going to bring an Archiver's to Arkansas, preferably not in Little Rock, say, Conway or closer to me?!?? While I'm at it, how about a Michael's in Conway too?!! :) I used my Copic markers from eclecticPaperie to do my coloring. The May Arts ribbon and Gelly Roll Stardust glitter pen are from StarLitStudio. I used Real Red & Basic Black cardstock from SU! I got a tip from Tex that she got from Jeanne Streiff. Jeanne uses white cardstock by Georgia Pacific when coloring with her Copic's. I got mine at Wal-Mart in the office supply section. It's cheap compared to other white cardstock I've purchased and the Copic marker's work great on this! Thanks Tex & Jeanne!
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

meet me under the mistletoe!

I'm so excited to be a designer for Hanna Stamps! Kristi Ferro has brought Hanna to the stamping community with the illustrations of a very impressive artist, read about Amber on Kristi's blog. Oh, I'm looking forward to all of the Hanna releases in the months to come! I know you will too, SO EXCITING!!!!!!
"Tis The Season" is Hanna Stamps second set, to be released tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 26th. This is such a fun stamp set! There are 13 images to this winter set, Hanna and all her accessories for the cutest winter cards and altered items! Kristi is still offering FREE SHIPPING, so take advantage of that while you can!

I decided Hanna was ready for a little sparkle, after all she's waiting under the mistletoe, right? *grin* The sentiment at the bottom says "meet me under the mistletoe" I used my Karen Foster snap stamps for that and I added 2 little ornaments from this "Tis the Season Set". The patterned paper is Basic Greys Fruitcake. I colored the images with Copic markers, the card base is spritzed with Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist, get these from eclecticPaperie. The sparkle on the skirt, boot tops and ribbon on the mistletoe is covered with Stickles from StarLitStudio.
I hope y'all have a happy day, it's cold and rainy here, brrrrrrrrr.
Thanks for stopping by, and all your support!

halloween tree

I finally finished my tree, I was afraid I wouldn't get it done in time for Halloween, the HORROR!! Ü

I'm going to give y'all a supply list because there is so much involved here. If you have any questions just let me know!

I got the Halloween tree at Hobby Lobby.
The black bird, Halloween jingle bells, Martha Stewart glitter - onyx & carnelian, wooden cat cutout, bat punch from Michaels. You can also get the Martha stuff at MarthaStewart.com.

All the patterened paper is from the Crafty Secrets Earthy Paper Pad from Crafty Secrets or Sweet & Sassy Crafts. Really Rust, Basic Black, Confetti White CS, gingham & organdy ribbon and oval punch by SU! Page torn from an old book. Tin pumpkin, beads, wire, black crepe paper & filler from a varity store. Gingerbread Glimmer Mist from eclecticPaperie. Marvy scalloped square punch. Crafty Secrets stamp sets Coffee & Tea, Kewpies and Party Queen .

I made the batty witch cone out of Really Rust CS, painted Mod Podge on it and covered it with black lace. I painted another coat of Mod Podge over the lace and sprinkled onyx glitter on it. All the punched bats, halloween jingle bells and hat accents are glittered. Images are colored with Copic markers.

I thought the little hats from Party Queen were perfect for the Kewpies. The filler and little cone are sprayed with Glimmer Mist.

Please keep our California friends and families in your thoughts and prayers. Many of my close friends and SCS members are living through the fear of the fires. Stay safe!!

got ribbon??

All of us paper crafters LOVE ribbon, right? We have yards and yards and spools everywhere and are always looking for the best ways to store it, which is part of the fun!

I have a friend, who has more ribbon than she cares to talk about, I can't tell you her name, it's TOP SECRET ;) She is so generous with ribbon too, sending gifts of ribbon to her friends. She is the one who made me the ribbon hoarder that I am, and I thank her for that! I sent the card out to her this week. I thought of her the minute I saw the tiny Jolee's ribbon spools!

I got the Bella image and patterned paper a while back from Lisa Zappa. I found the tiny ribbon spools at Hobby Lobby, they are those Jolee embellishments, there are several to a package along with little snippets of ribbon. The word bubble or what ever you call it :) is from the Party Queen set by Crafty Secrets, the alpha stamps are the SU! Rough Edges Alpha set and the small flowers are from the Green Thumb set by PaperTrey Ink. There is Martha Stewart turquoise glitter around the word bubble. The image is colored with Copic markers, you can get those from eclecticPaperie or Ellen Hutson, LLC.

Have a great weekend!

atc swap, hatbox, ribbon & bunchie

I'm in an ATC swap with some of my friends. I LOVE ATC's, they are small, easy to store and oh so cute!! It's a winter theme swap, so I went straight to my Vintage Christmas stamp set by Crafty Secrets. The images in this set are adorable, I have loved this little girl or boy, whatever you want I guess :), since I saw it and this was the perfect time to use it! I stamped her with Archival Jet Black ink on confetti white cardstock by SU! This cardstock is great for the coloring with Copic's, there is no bleeding. I finally figured out that it's the whisper white cardstock that was causing me my bleeding issues. I used paper from the Earthy Paper Pad. I stamped the Greetings part of the sentiment and the snowflake with Brilliance Moonlight White on SU! textured cardstock. The is a crystal in the center of the snowflake, white lace and Martha's yummy white gold glitter around the edges of the image. I got the glittering around the image idea from LZ, she's GOOOOOD I tell ya!!

Oh, look what I found Sunday at a flea market. Isn't it beautiful?? It is to me :) I'm thinking this hatbox was used for travel. It's sturdy and it has the plastic handle on top. The fabric on the outside is like upholstery fabric, it's plush. The inside is just as pretty, love the green. There are some buttons and stuff in it that I got. I can just see a lady carrying this along with her on her journey. I plan on using it for my ever growing collection of lace and trim!

I found this old spool of ribbon too, isn't it gorgeous? Look at the shiny silver edge, looks like tinsel!

I snapped this picture of Bunchie in her bed while I was taking my pictures :) She's just about too big for her bed, but, she won't give it up!

Crafty Frame & Card

Boy, did I ever have fun making this! It took me awhile but, I thought it came out cute!

I got the wood frame on clearance at Michael's several months ago for $1. It doesn't have glass in it, but, I'll cut a piece of acetate to go over the picture. I wanted to leave that off while I photographed it. I used the paper from the Crafty Secrets Classic Paper Pad, I just LOVE this pretty paper! The flowers are punched with my SU! 5 petal flower punch and my 1/2" circle punch. I sponged the edges of the flower with Walnut Distress ink and I sprayed them with Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist, ahhhhhhh, so sparkly! You can see it better in the closeup picture. I got the pearl stamens at a yard sale for .25 and they worked perfect for my flowers!

The name plate is stamped with the Baby Girl set from Crafty Secrets, I used that set to make the card too. See the Cherub? Yep, she's from the Cherubs set. I stamped her 3 times, twice on CS and once on vellum. On the stamp, there is a tied bow she is holding. When I cut her out I omitted the bow and made my own with taffeta ribbon, I put my heat gun to it to give it some waves. I colored one cherub with my Copic markers, cut her out and cut out another and the wings from the vellum. I glued two of the cherubs together to make her thicker, threw some Dazzling Diamonds glitter on the wings, glued them on and she was done. The frame is sprayed with the Glimmer Mist too.

The card is made with the same paper, I used the Baby Girl set. This frame and card would make a sweet gift for a new mother and her baby girl. I put a picture of Jayde in it that I printed with the antique setting.

Get your stuff to make these from the stores below!!

I hope y'all have a super day, thanks for stopping by!!

Journey...

I got to play with my new Journey set from Crafty Secrets. I LOVE the vintage images in this set (who am I kidding, I LOVE all the Crafty Secret images!!!!!). It's perfect for a vacation journal, going away or miss you cards or scrapping the 'journeys' we and our families have taken in our lives. I decided to use the luggage stamp, isn't it pretty? The details are perfect! I used the Earthy Paper Pad for this one. I made some trunk 'straps' out of Chocolate Chip cardstock. I cut them and crumpled them up and flattened them back out to give them a used look, did some faux stitching and put some big brads at the bottom. The image is colored with my Copic markers. I sponged the edges of the main image and tag with Ranger Distress Walnut ink. The SU! punches are the Key Tag & Ticket Corner.

I want to show you the antique doll my mom gave me. She got it from my aunt, it belonged to her sister in law. It's so unique, I'm hoping that anyone who see's it here might be able to tell me something about it! I've taken several shots so you can see what she does, I've never seen a doll like this!
Her clothes are made out of wool or heavy felt. See the knob on top of her head? That's how you turn her head to show her faces, she has 3 different ones! She's about 14" tall. Her hair is attached to the inside of the cap, not on her head, so when you turn her head to get a new face the hair stays put. I've taken several pictures to show her faces. There is not a spec of dirt on her. The only thing I see is the fabric on the knob on the top of her head is worn. I assume this doll has been packed away for years and years, look at the crackle on her face, now that crackle is the real thing!

This is the in between the faces shot, so you can see that the faces are all on 1 head.

If anyone knows anything about antique dolls I sure would like to know some more about her, who made her, how old she is etc.

We are headed to Conway tomorrow, seems like we go there a lot, huh? Ü Jayde is having a birthday party, her birthday is Sunday, my son's birthday is Sunday too and my daughter's is Monday! Phew.....busy, busy, busy!

I hope y'all have a great weekend!

Old Saint Nick, Bracelet & the weekend

Happy Monday!

Here is one of the images from the Heartwarming Vintage Seasonal Booklet by Crafty Secrets, I love this old vintage Santa! I covered him with the Ranger Crackle Accents. I sponged the edges with walnut ink before I applied the crackle. I used the Radiant Paper Pad for the background, you can get them from Crafty Secrets and Anna at Sassy & Sweet Crafts . The bracelet is a Naked Bracelet by 7gypsies that I got from Cindy at StarLitStudio, it comes with all the pieces you need to make the bracelet. I used the Heartwarming Vintage Stickers Christmas Memories. After I assembled the bracelet, I punched the stickers out with a 5/8" punch, peeled the backing off and stuck it inside the bracelet bezel, then I stuck the clear tile on top. I think the vintage stickers are so cute in these bracelets, they are super easy to make and are great little gifts!

We went to my son's Friday in Heber Springs and we all went out to eat at the Pot Of Gold at Lindsey's Resort. That was the first time we had been there. It's on the Little Red River, it's really pretty there, we'll be going back! We spent Saturday in Conway seeing my daughter and the girls, little Jasmine is growing & changing so much, every time I see her she's doing something new. Jayde will be 6 Sunday, ACK, she's growing up too fast!
We stopped at a couple of yard sales and I got some lace & ribbon, a Home Interior porcelain doll for $3, it will be going to Jasmine & Jayde, and an old set of those plastic canisters for $1, the flour canister is missing, but who cares, WOOHOO! I've seen these sets in flea markets for $25 a set! I'll use the canisters in my stamp room for ribbon and such. I remember the set my mom had, too bad she didn't keep them.

I hope y'all have a great day!
