my atc book & a charming bird

I decided I wanted to make an ATC book and use baseball card holders to put the ATC's in. I found a book at a thrift shop, the perfect size and the covers were plain, it just has the title on it.
It was really hard for me to cut the covers off the book, I don't know, it just didn't seem right LOL, once I got it done I was OK though.

I think the Crop-A-Dile is one of the best tools made! If I didn't have it, putting holes in the covers would have been TOO HARD to do! I put the big eyelets from SU! in the holes and used 3 1 1/2" ring binders to hold it all together. I put a package of baseball card holders inside, hopefully, I'll be adding more! I didn't do anything to the covers other than adding the paper, chipboard and bellies, the covers were already a pretty yellow.

I left the inside covers like they were, I thought it looked good!
Supplies: Paper - Crafty Secrets Pastel Paper Pad, SU! Regal Rose. Crafty Secrets Sweet Chips Chipboard - small heart and large heart from the Heart Album and Frames, bird from the Little Folding House, "I" and tag hand cut from a coaster, sheet music. Ink - Walnut crystals by 7gypsies, Glimmer Mist. Acces. - book covers, baseball card holders from Wal-Mart, pink twill, lace, rick rack, buttons, pom-pom ribbon, Scrabble tiles, SU! scalloped, hole and slit punches, foil leaves & bow.
Oh! Just wanted to pop in here and tell you to go on over to the Crafty Secrets Blog and see what Sandy's up to! She's got some contests and give aways going on, YIPPEEEEEE!!!!

Look what I got from Laurie at Lauries Charming Designs. I just love her little wool birdies and her tole painting, beautiful! She hand dyes the wool and this is her own pattern, you need to go check out all her bird creations, they are so stinkin' cute!!

I've added this one to my little pin cushion collection.

HSC18 ~ chipboard

It's my turn to host the Hanna Stamps challenge over at Splitcoaststampers, keyword HSC18. Go on over and play along!! I decided the challenge would be to use chipboard on your card. I love chipboard and I have SO MUCH of it, any excuse to use it is good!

In my research on moose feet, LOL, I found out that they have 4 toes on each foot/hoof, 2 in the front and 2 in the back. That's where I came up with the Hang 8 for the surfer Riley.
Where is the surfer smiley? *grin*
I used a crown from Tim Holtz Grungeboard, the number 8 by American Crafts and the tag by SU!. Riley's surfboard is paper pieced.

Supplies: Stamps - Surfer Riley by Hanna Stamps, Rough Edges Alpha by SU!. Paper - Cosmo Cricket Get Happy 8x8 paper pad, Ruby Red & GP White. Ink - Ranger Distress Black Soot, Walnut Stain, Copic markers, white pen by Inkssentials. Acces. - Barbara Trombley's Art Glitter Vintage Glass Sea Sprite and Red Damask from StarLitStudio, Tim Holtz ruler, May Arts ribbon, Dimensionals, paper distresser and black brads.

Make sure you go on over to SCS in the Hanna Stamp forums and play along, remember it's HSC18! I can't wait to see what you do with your Hanna Stamps and chipboard!

Pam, Love the cute as a bug and the beautiful iris. Is it Iris Japonica? How long from planting til bloom time? I live in Texas, so they are pretty much done now, but maybe next year. I could put them in during the fall and hopefully by spring It'll bloom, let me know, Sylvia

My irises are done now too, I have a couple still in bloom and I have some rebloomers, hopefully they will bloom again! I wish I knew there names, sorry to say I just didn't keep up with that. This is the first time it has bloomed and it has been it the ground for at least 2 years, so I was thrilled to see it bloom! I bought the black one in a grouping from a catalog. Even though I don't know their true names, they make me happy!

Here is a shot of another one...

Have a super Friday, thanks for stopping by!!

Beautiful cards, Piris!!!! I think I would also paint them. I am actually thinking a coat of turquoise and then a light coat of pink brushed over that - letting some of that turquoise poke through!
CONGRATS girls!!!

Please email hoot25@yahoo.com me your mailing address and I will get your Journal Booklets out to you ASAP!

Thanks so much for playing along everyone! I had so much fun reading all the comments on what I should do with my chairs....I'm leaning towards sand blasting and painting them pink, white, turquoise or celery green, maybe red, love the stenciling idea too, I may do that or deco some Crafty Secrets images on them, love that! Dang, so many great ideas, I'll post a picture when I get them done.

Thanks again!!
Have a good night.

It's blog bloomin' time!!!

Yep, here's your chance to win those new Crafty Secrets Journal Booklets!! Sandy Redburn at Crafty Secrets was so generous in giving the design team some of these booklets to give away!
I will choose 2 lucky winners, 1st prize will be all 4 Journal Booklets, 2nd prize will be 2 Journal Booklets!

Here's what you do...I got these 2 old chairs from my son & DIL for an early Mother's Day present, {I just love them} comment on this post and tell me should I paint them, I was thinking a pretty pink, or leave them as they are and put a coat or 2 of sealer on them, I've been told that's what a lot of people are doing with these. I really would like some feedback here, I don't know what to do, LOL!! I will have the Random picker pick the winners the evening of May 12.

Here are 2 cards I made with the new booklets.
The birthday card is made with the Homemade booklet and the little girl giving her dog a ride is from the Childhood booklet.
I used the whole sheet from the Homemade booklet for this tall card, I thought it was perfect for this size card!

This is a picture of my first iris bouquet, I have more blooming every day. I'll share a picture of some more of them when I can.

Thanks for stopping by, don't forget to leave a comment here and tell me what you would do with the chairs! You never know you could be a winner!

Tornado & Hanna Stamps challenge, hsc15

Hi all, I'm so happy to be able to say that today Ü
You may have heard on the news about the tornadoes that went through Arkansas Friday. I spent Friday morning in the hallway with a mattress over us, I was so scared. Greers Ferry got a lot of damage, homes, business, farms, it's just awful to see all the lives disrupted. It got as close as Terry being able to hear it when he was on the porch. But, we made it with no damage, I'm so thankful! I took some pic's of our flooded yard after it was over. These were taken from my deck in the back yard.

OK, on to happier stuff!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is my card for the HSC15 over on SCS in the Hanna Stamps forum. We were to use more than 1 set on a card. I used 4 sets on this one and I did all Hanna Stamps sets! I pulled out the little sewing machine, actually, I put it on my table I work on all the time so maybe I'll use it more! This Hanna card is full of bling too, it's all about the ya know!!

Go on over to the challenge on SCS and see all the other challenge cards, they are so much fun to do!
