Happy New Year ~ OCL

Smiley from millan.net
Did you have a good Christmas? I had my kids and grandbabies and my mom here. We had good food and fun times, now it's back to everyday things, ahhhhh!
Oh wait, it's crunch time for CHA (Craft and Hobby Association), making samples for the new stuff coming out, getting them to Crafty Secrets and Our Craft Lounge for the the booths, packing, wondering what to wear, the weather in CA. OMG! I'm going to CHA!! Am I excited? Ummm, yeah! Am I a total stress mess? Ummmm, yeah! As far as I know, I'll be doing make and takes at the Splitcoast Stampers booth for eclecticPaperie on Friday the 22nd and I'll be at the OCL booth off and on. Come by and see me if you're going, I'm so ready to meet more stampin' friends IRL!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've got a tag and a card to share today. I made them using the Cheers stamp set by Our Craft Lounge. The tag was sponged with Distress ink and a blender tool. I stamped the row of glasses on the bottom and the bubbles, olive, cork and little stars on the tag. I stamped, colored and cut out 3 bunches of ballons and put them on the tag with foam dots to give them dimension. I added Crafty Sparkles to the star and glued on the flower I made with my Peony dies by Spellbinders. I cut the pocket watch with another die, Timeless Heritage and added a clock face and a game spinner. I stamped and paper pieced the bottle and put Glossy Accents on it to make it look like glass.
Supplies: Stamps - Cheers by OCL. Paper - tag, GP white, MME Penny Lane. Ink - Ranger Distress Black Soot, Vintage Photo, Peeled Paint, Dusty Concord, Copic markers, Gelly Roll Stardust pen. Acces. - Crafty Sparkles Ice Crystals, large chipboard star by SU!, Martha Stewart ribbon, small black pom-pom trim, button, clock face, game spinner, large clear crystal, Tim Holtz ticket, Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist, Glossy Accents. Tools - Big Shot, Spellbinders Peony and Timeless Heritage dies, blender tool.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is a little Happy New Year card I made. I cut the card with my Spellinders Long Scalloped Rectangle die. I used a 12x12 piece of Prism cardstock, I cut the cardstock a little bigger than the width of the die and scored it in half. I layed the die a smidgen over the fold and ran it through my Big Shot. The card is 2 7/8 x 5 5/8", it fits in a regular letter size envy. To get the little sparkly stars on the main image, I put glue on the star with my glue pen and stamped it and then I sprinkled Ice Crystal Crafty Sparkles on. The sparkly stars are so cute! I paper pieced the ballons.

Supplies:
Stamps - Cheers by OCL. Paper - Prism green cardstock, MME Abby Road, Confetti white & turquoise by SU!. Ink - Ranger Distress Black Soot, Inkssentials white pen. Acces. - Crafty Sparkles Ice Crystals, Martha Stewart ribbon, silver cord, button, brads, pins. Tools - Scor-Pal, Marvy Mega and Giga scalloped punches, Spellbinders Long Classic Rectangle (sm).

Each card has a heart image and sentiment from the set. I used my Creative Memories heart cutter to cut the cards, super easy with that cutter! Then the fun part, picking out the papers and adding the embellishments!

I paper pieced this heart. I stamped it twice and cut out the little heart, popped it up and put Glossy Accents on it.

This heart is stamped and covered with Glossy Accents and Crafty Sparkles Ice Crystals

This heart was also stamped twice and the little heart cut out and covered with Glossy Accents and Crafty Sparkles in Rose Pink.

Supplies: Stamps - OCL True Love. Paper - My Minds Eye Abby Road, GP white, SU! Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red & Confetti Cream. Ink - Ranger Distress Black Soot, Spiced Marmalade, Broken China, SU! Regal Rose, Copic Markers. Acces. - ribbon, rick rack, buttons, Crafty Sparkles in Ice Crystals & Rose Pink, Glossy Accents. Jungle Love Treat ~ Our Craft Lounge

This sweet Valentine set is Jungle Love by Our Craft Lounge. It has the cutest little monkey, lion and bird and the cutest sentiments to go with them! I think this set would be perfect for little boys to make Valentines for their friends, don't you? There are plenty of sweet girly Valentine sets out there, but, this one is all boy to me.

The pretty plaid paper is MME Abby Road. The mini card and envy are from SU!
I went to 3 stores trying to find this Runt candy with the bananas, I always liked that candy.

I don't know what was in this tin, probably some Prima flowers or some kind of embellishments. I got it out of my to do crate Ü

Kitchen Challenge ~ Crafty Secrets

It's Crafty Secrets Challenge time again! This challenge is all about the kitchen and cooking. Crafty Secrets just released some new Cuts, Kitchen Time Cuts, the images are so cute and fun!
I decided to make a little kitchen hanger from an old cupcake tin.

I thought it would be cute hanging in the kitchen for grocery lists, menu's, coupons etc. I put a pink clip at the top and I made 3 magnets from bottle caps to hold my stuff.

I got this old cupcake tin at a yard sale, it was in pretty bad shape so I cleaned it up and spray painted it white. I figured out which images I wanted to use from the Kitchen Time Cuts and punched them out with my SU! scalloped circle punch. I adhered them inside the cups with some cut corks and E6000. I cut the corks and glued them in the center of my images and then I glued them inside the cups. I did this to keep them in place, the images were too big to fit on the bottom of the cups, does that make sense? In other words they are popped up with a cork.

I punched some circles from my Earthy Paper Pad and glued them inside the cups. These were smaller, so they fit on the bottom of the cups. I got some of those little cookie cutters you get at Walmart in the cake decorating section. They usually have some up for each holiday. These were from an Easter package. I put some glue on the edges and put them inside 3 of the cups. I took 3 bottle caps and glued more circles inside those from my Earthy paper and glued glittered letters inside the caps, they spell eat. I made 3 magnets using more bottle caps, punched paper and small images from the cuts.
I adhered the red rick rack around the tin with my ATG gun. I attached some copper wire to the back with E6000 for the hanger and tied a bow on the wire.
The menu sheet is a page from the Homemade Images & Journal Notes.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Be sure and check the other design team posts to see what they've done, I'm looking forward to it! Julie Campbell is playing along with us this challenge and Michele Kovack has the $30 give away this month, go comment for a chance to win!
monkeys, cards and more Couple of Cuties peeks ~ Crafty Secrets
Hi! I hope y'all are staying warm, it's C O L D and rainy here, blech. The weather man said there was a chance for a few snow flurries later this evening, blech again! I hope it all stays in TX., heehee.
Here are a couple more peeks at the Crafty Secrets Couple of Cuties set, aren't these images the sweetest?! These are a tad longer than an atc, I got a bunch of these cards pre-cut, I didn't want to trim them down since they aren't that much longer. The paper I used is from the CS Pastel Paper Pad, GP white, vanilla & blue cardstock. I used my Spellbinders Labels 4 & Classic Scalloped Rectangle Large dies, my slit & Martha lace punches, ribbon, paper flowers and some bling. I did some sewing too.
I love coloring these images, they are just so darned cute!
To get my papers and images to match, I always pick my papers first and then I match Copic markers to the papers.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here are a couple of pic's of my stamp room. This is a card rack that Lisa Zappa sent me a few years back, I got it filled with cards from my friends, there is 1 I made for Terry on there.
Here's my eBay sock monkey. I made her hat with pink netting, crocheted flowers and a fabric flower I made. I put vintage clip earrings on her ears and a vintage pin on her chest, ouch. She's holding her baby, I got that at Cracker Barrel.

I hope you have a great day!

Couple of Cuties ~ Crafty Secrets

I've got one of the new release sets by Crafty Secrets Clear Art Stamps called Couple of Cuties, and there are defiantly some cuties in this set! I just love the vintage images that Sandy comes up with for her stamp sets, they are always so much fun!
There are 23 stamps in this set, 4 sweet little couple images, a cute little girl on the phone and oodles of sentiments and flourishes! Perfect vintage as always!

This little scene is adorable! I love the soda fountain with the heart mirror behind the bar and the wallpaper, the little girls telling their secrets...
I've been working on some ATC's with this set I'll share next!

I used the Pastel Paper Pad, Copic markers to color the image and Ranger Distress Walnut Stain for the stamping. I have glitter on the Spellbinders Fleur De Lis die cut.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~We had a great Thanksgiving with the family with yummy food and fun. I hope you had the same! I did a little shopping today, not at 5:00 am though, nope, no-way, I cherish my sleep too much, LOL! I've got a few gifts down and several to go!
My niece came down to mom's from Springfield today, we watched Twilight, she hadn't seen it Smiley from millan.net...um, let's just say she liked the movie, muchly!
Crafty Secrets Christmas Challenge!
Good Monday Morning!
It's Crafty Secrets challenge time and our challenge this month is Christmas! I can't believe it's so close. Are you ready?
I got this wood snowflake at Hobby Lobby last year after Christmas when all of their stuff is on sale. I love Hobby Lobby and after season sales are the best! Anyway, I sprayed it with Snowflake Glimmer Mist and put some glitter on. I punched a bunch of flowers out of old book pages that I sprayed with Candy Apple Red & Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist. I glued the flowers around the back of the snowflake so they are peeking over the edge.
I used the Christmas Postcard Kit, a chipboard postcard and a Santa image and I put red pom-pom trim around the edge. I glued red buttons on the snowflake points.
I made this embellishment with chipboard and images in the kit. I glued the beads in the center of the rusty snowflake, it's from Hobby Lobby too.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~My next project is some ornaments I made using the Christmas Creative Scraps. I have had more fun using these Creative Scraps since Sandy introduced them. I have found so many uses for them especially in my altered projects, I love them!
I punched my image with a circle punch and adhered it inside the vintage candy mold with Glossy Accents. I covered the image with Glossy Accents and sprinkled on some glitter. The edge of the mold has Martha Stewart snow glitter on it. The little embellishment on the edge was made with some old pinecone picks from a yard sale. I added the berries, bell and button.

This one was made the same way, but I used a square punch and glued the bow on the back.

I got these molds at a flea market. They were a great find in almost perfect condition!

Make sure you check out the DT blogs and see what they did. Darlene Pavlick is our guest designer this month, welcome Darlene!

Our Craft Lounge Sneak Peeks ~ Day 2

Good Thursday Morning Smiley from millan.net

It's day 2 of the OCL sneak peeks for the Valentine release, I love sneak peeks, cuz I know there are fun things to come!!

The card I'm sharing today I made with the new St. Patricks set Shamrock Blessings. I love this sentiment, it's perfect for someone you want blessed on St. Patricks day.
This is a close-up of the lace flower embellishment I made. The center of the Prima flower is a clover punched, glittered up with Crafty Sparkles Irish Green and mounted on another circle punched piece of brown card stock. I covered it with Glossy Accents, when it was almost dry I stuck a clear gem in the center. I Smiley from millan.net Cosmo Cricket and this paper is perfect for a St. Patricks Day card, it's from the Earth Love Mini Deck. I love these colors Cosmo Cricket came up with!
I remember when I was little me and my friends would make jewelry with these clover blooms. We would sit in the yard, pick them and we would split the stem and string them together to make necklaces and bracelets. This is what drew me to this set, I love these kinds of memories. Did you make clover bloom jewerly?

Make sure and check out the other DT blogs to get some peeks! FUN!!
Stay tuned, the blog hop is tomorrow, your chance to win some sets, YIPPEE! Oh yeah, don't forget the challenges that are going on at The Lounge, man, there is SO much going on this week at OCL and prizes galore!
