Winter CHA 2010

I'm home, just in time too. I flew in from Dallas Thursday just ahead of a snow storm. They closed Little Rock airport on Friday, phew, that was close! We have about 8" of snow on the ground!
I had the best time at CHA, if my leg wasn't hurting me it would have been perfect! I had a couple of bad days with my leg, too much walking around, but, I got to spend time with my BFF's and it was so worth it to me. I love you girls, thanks for taking care of me!

Me, Tex and Joan flew out together on Thursday. We had a wild ride flying in to Phoenix. My stomach went in my throat more than once...after we landed we found out our next flight to Ontario was cancelled do to wind...ACK!

We finally got a room and in the center of the hotel was the prettiest garden full of cactus, flowers and orange trees. I wish I could have taken pic's but it was really stormy, the wind was blowing hard and oranges were falling off the trees, we were being bombed by oranges, and they were huge, can you imagine? LOL!
When we got to Anaheim, there was excitement all around. I met up with Joy and I went to work at Scrapbook Heavens booth doing make-n-takes for Our Craft Lounge. Me and my friend HB hung out doing make-n-takes and walking the floor. We did a couple of make-n-takes ourselves, and then it was time to set up the OCL booth. We had a lot of laughs at CHA and at Joy's, where we stayed, I laughed so hard, we were in tears just about every night. (it was all Kisa's fault)

I'm going to share a few pic's with you, I wish I would have taken more!

Up, up and away!

Sweet Vicki Chrisman, me and HB.

Super cute cake in the Crafty Secrets booth.

The highlight of my trip was taking a Tim Holtz class, OMG. It was amazing, we got his new book and he autographed it for us. We made the cutest frame with grunge paper flowers cut with his new die from Sizzix. We got some of his new Distress Ink pads too, yummy colors, I can't wait to get the rest of them!Me, Mario Rosse and Joy KennedyMe and Wendy VechhiMe and Suze WeinbergCarol DuvallMe and Jenn Balcer

New 3D Shadow Boxes & Altered Fairy Scraps for CHA!

WOOHOO! Now that the secret is out, it's time to show off the new AccuCut dies that our DT leader Vicki Chrisman designed! Her designs are based on the old timey photo frames, the heavy cardboard ones that the pictures used to come in, but, these are way better. They have dimension to them so you can put 3D stuff inside the frame! You can fold them up to mail if you want.

Available in a Portrait or Landscape style, each card has a center shadow box style ‘stage’ to showcase a multitude of creative themes and styles. You can create photos keepsakes, 3D cards, shaker boxes, altered art and dioramas! Both dies will be available from AccuCut and discounted 25% off for orders placed at the CHA Show. Crafty Secrets will also be selling Kits, with or without the Fairy Scraps included. The Fairy Scraps have oodles of little cutouts and words to use, FUN!

I had fun using pictures of my grandbabes for these frames. There are 2 frame dies, a horizontal and a vertical one. For the first one I printed the picture twice, cut out the girls and popped that up on the other picture that I used for the background, I could add the wings to them this way.

I love this picture of my sweet girls!
I sprayed the white crocheted flower with Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist.
The Sweetchips Chipboard is covered with glitter.

Challenge 101 ~ Crafty Secrets

I got to make a card yesterday for the Crafty Secrets challenge over at SCS. The clues were easy enough for me to figure out this week, LOL! I had the day off, a snow day, u g h. It has been SO cold and it's supposed to get colder by the end of the week, 0-5 degrees!
Smiley from millan.net
They said it hasn't been that cold in AR. in 15 years!
I hope my drive to work is smooth, no sliding around on those mountains, ugh.

Anyway, enough about that.

The challenge was to make a card with spots, so this is what I came up with, a simple, mostly white card using the new Couple of Cuties stamp set. I used my Dotted Cuttlebug folder on the card front and the Tiny Bubbles folder for the strip behind the image. The little girls dress was stamped with a tiny circle stamp in red. I added the pink netting on her skirt. I cut a small piece and gathered it up with a needle and thread and then I stitched it to her skirt. I covered the stitches with the Prima flower that I colored red with a Copic marker and attached it with the white brad. So....my spots are the red circles on her skirt and the spots from the Cuttlebug folders.

I glittered up the hearts chipboard and added a paper rose and button.

Supplies: Stamps - Crafty Secrets Clear Art Stamps Couple of Cuties, tiny circle stamp from the Rustic Branches set by PTI. Paper - GP white, SU! Real Red. Ink - Ranger Distress Black Soot, SU! Real Red, Copic markers. Acces. - white brad, chipboard hearts, red button, Martha Stewart Garnet glitter, white glitter, pink netting, paper rose, white ribbon. Tools - Spellbinders Classic oval and scalloped oval dies, scalloped border punch, Round It All corner tool, Tiny Bubbles and Dotted Cuttlebug folders, Big Shot, Scor-Pal.

I hope you have a great day! Go on over to SCS and play in the Crafty Secrets challenge CSSC101 if you can.
Stay warm!
