Story of Me

Oh boy, I'm SO GLAD the weekend is here, it seems like they can't roll around fast enough to suit me! I think I'll have a busy weekend, I'm hoping to get in a little shopping, that always makes me happy!! I have decided I'm NOT walking on the #%!*%&! treadmill on the weekends, I'm beginning to hate the beast! I know, I need to learn to like or even enjoy using it, but, I feel like the end of that mile will never come, ugh, LOL! I have to admit it's coming along a little faster now, but still....by the time I get home from work that's the last thing I want to do. OK, I'll stop whining, on to my card LOL! Look at that sweet image, I just love it!! It's from the soon to be released Crafty Secrets set Story of Me. It's a small set of 6 stamps, with this being the main image. I have plans for this little darlin'! I don't know if you can see the sentiment here but it says "A moment lasts but a second, the memory will last forever", isn't that pretty?

How do you like my backdrop? It's a bird house with a side porch, LOL! I used to use the porch a lot for my pictures, I thought the front was a good place to hang the little hanger.

I used paper from the Earthy Paper Pad, Georgia Pacific white and Close to Cocoa CS by SU! The book that the little cutie is holding is paper pieced, the rest is colored in with Copic's! I used my new T!m Holtz ruler and poker thing, holy cow, do I ever love this ruler, it has holes all the way across it to do paper piercing with, how smart is that?! I got mine from Cindy at her store, but it looks like she may be sold out now, I'm sure she'll get them back in ASAP, I know she love's all things T!m, LOL! The buttons are by SU! and the brads are from my friend Kookie. I stamped the sentiment on the paper and hand cut it out. All the images are stamped with Ranger Walnut Stain Distress ink.

Thanks for stopping by and everyone have a great weekend!

another Hanna sneak peek!

I made these little Easter Treats with the new Hanna set Spring Time. It's going to be released Friday, Feb. 22 over at Hanna Stamps! There are 14 stamps in this set, Hanna in a flowing Easter dress and bunnies, a lamb, eggs, grass, baskets, a tulip, and fence. The perfect set for all your Easter and Spring cards. The Happy Day! sentiment was made using a word from 2 different sentiments in the Things Hanna Would Say set.
I used SU! Scallop Notes & Envy's for the cards, they come in Vanilla, Soft Sky and Kraft, the little food boxes are from Hobby Lobby. The paper on the green set is Basic Grey and SU! Confetti Cream, the ribbon is by May Arts, the baskets on the green set are paper pieced. The orange set is SU! Apricot Appeal, Soft Sky textured card stock and Confetti Cream, DCWV posies glitter paper, the ribbon is by American Crafts. All of the eggs and the lambs collar have Ranger Glossy Accents on them to make them dimensional and shiny. The large scallop circle and square are punched with my Marvy punches. The small scallop on the green box is punched with my SU! scallop punch. I stamped the images with Ranger Distress Walnut Stain ink and colored with Copic's. I used Tattered Rose to distress the cream card stock behind the lambs. The lambs and cut out basket and bunny are popped up with Dimensionals.

Make sure and check out Hanna Stamps and be the first to get your hot little hands on the 2 new sets, you won't be sorry!!!

DD/DDA Challenge for February

Give a Shout Out!This months DD/DDA challenge is to use stamps designed by fellow Dirty Girls or CASE a Dirty Girl use Spring colors and no die cut machines like Cuttlebug, etc.

I chose to use a new stamp, Rose Bouquet by Anna Wight for Whipper Snapper and a backgrounder Scalloped Lace by Lisa Strahl for Cornish Heritage Farms.

I love the sweet rose bouquet by Anna, it can be used for so many occasions. I thought it went well with my oval Nestabilities dies. I put a tiny pearl by K&Company on the cuff that holds the flowers and some Hydrangia Dew Drops on the side. I used my Copic markers for the coloring, the sentiment is a rub on by SU! from the Eastern Elegance sheet. I embossed Lisa's lace backgrounder with detail white EP by SU!, the detail on the stamp is amazing, and the embossing really makes it pop, I love it!! The ribbon at the bottom is by May Arts.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!
ETA: I disqualified myself from this challenge, LOL!
I used the Cuttlebug with the Nestabilities dies, pfffft!! I've had this card done for at least a week and didn't even notice what I had done until I was commenting on another challenge card!!

get your motor runnin'...

head out on the highway...lookin' for adventure in whatever comes our way....
Are you singing with me? LOL! Born To Be Wild. The last time I thought of this song was when I did the little SU! booglie witch on the scooter card for the Dirty Dozen on SCS, dang, how many years ago was that?! LOL!

There's a new motorcycle riding girly on the scene now, LOL, and it's Hanna! She's on her motorcycle along with some cute scene stamps to go along with her, check out the cute little lizard! There are 14 stamps in all in this fun set called Route 66. If you're in to motorcycles or Hanna, you need this set!

I used SU! Cameo Coral, Basic Black, Georgia Pacific white card stock and K & Company K*Ology 6x6 Hannah paper pad. Hanna and her bike are paper pieced and colored with a black Sakura Gelly Roll Glaze pen, a silver Creative Memories pen and Copic markers. I put a large silver eyelet in the front wheel. There is Onyx Martha Stewart glitter on Hanna's pants and on the arrow on the sign. The card stock arrows were punched with the SU! My Way punch and the ribbon is celery grosgrain. The sentiment is stamped on the large coral arrow from Things Hanna Would Say.
I know you will have fun with the Route 66 set, it will be released this Friday, Feb. 22 along with the Spring Time Easter set!!
Have a good day, thanks for stopping by!

Happy Love Day!

This is the first time I have made one of these little cans, fun, fun, fun, and the fruit was yummy too! I bought a 4 pack of Del Monte Cherry Mixed Fruit at Wal-Mart. I used my Pampered Chef can opener, it opens cans without a sharp edge, and opened the bottom of the can, ate the fruit and washed the can. I put some candy inside and glued the bottom on the can with a tiny bit of E6000, just to make sure it stays on. I used patterned paper from the Little Girls 8x8 kit by Cosmo Cricket and wrapped it around the can using red line tape. I glued the rick rack from Wal-Mart on and made the tag with my SU! tag punches and the tag stamp from the Happy Heart Day set.

The card is made using the Scallop Notes Cards and Envy's by SU! Those are really cute cards with the scallops on the bottom edge, I love the size too, 4x2 3/4".

Look at the cute stamp! It's by Anna Wight, one of our very own Dirty Dozen Alumni girls on Splitcoast, she has numerous stamps at Whipper Snapper! If you have not checked out her stamps you need to, they always make me smile! This one is called Single Heart Tulip, so sweet! I paper pieced the tulip and pot and used my silver Spica glitter pen for the highlights on the hearts, and my red one on the scallops on the bottom edge of the card and the tiny hearts on the tag. I paper pieced the hearts on the corner of the envy too. I used my large scallop oval Nestibilities dies to cut the red Cosmo paper and confetti cream card stock. The Mellow Moss buttons are by SU! with tiny paper strips threaded through the holes.

I hope your Valentine's Day is filled with lots of hugs and kisses and chocolate too!! :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Crafty Secrets Heart Album

Hi! Long time no see, *grin* I've been working hard on this heart album. It's jam packed with Crafty Secrets sneak peeks and the newest release, Cherish! This set is gorgeous, it's perfect for Valentines, wedding or just love cards! There are 3 new sets I've used here and the new chipboard heart album. The other 2 sets and chipboard will be available after CHA, among other new sets, OMG, wait until you see!

I'm going to give a list of the supplies used, if I talk about how I made this, I'll be here for days! If there is anything you want to know, just email me and I'll go into further detail! When I'm working on something I normally have an idea of what I want to do and design as I go. It was hard to make myself stop on this! I hope you like it!

See the porcelin flowers? I got those at a yard sale, 3 packages for .25, I finally found the perfect project to use them on. The chipboard frames come in the heart chipboard album kit.

Pages 1 & 2. There are 4 hearts in the package, I used 2 of them for the front and back and traced 2 hearts on cardstock to use for the inside pages.

Pages 3 & 4
The pictures are of my mom and dad, I scanned them and printed.

Pages 5 & 6.
There is 1 hole in each chipboard and cardstock piece, I threaded seam binding through the holes and tied a bow to bind.

Supplies:

Crafty Secrets Heart Chipboard Album. Paper - Crafty Secrets Pastel Paper Pad, SU! Sage Shadow, Georgia Pacific White, music sheets from an old church hymnal. Stamps - Crafty Secrets Cherish, Flourishes, ABC Top Hat. Ink - Ranger Distress Vintage Photo, Black Soot, SU! Sage Shadow, Copic markers. Accessories - Rick rack, Martha Stewart ribbon, seam binding & twill, May Arts ribbon, vintage lace. Stampendous white glitter, Martha Stewart Whitegold glitter, heart, hole and flower punches, porcelian flowers, paper doilies, Glimmer Mist, flower eyelets, silver tinsel pipe cleaners.

I went to Heber Springs Saturday, I wanted to go to Aromatique's gift shop and see what they had in the discount room. I stopped at a flea market and found a big 'ol jar for my buttons, well, my vintage buttons, I have an old coffee jar with new buttons in it and a blue ball quart jar with white ones and another blue ball jar with pink ones and another one with brown buttons *big cheezy grin* I've been looking for the right one for these buttons, it had to be big! I don't know what it is about buttons, I can't stop, LOL!!
Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!
