Crafty Secrets Design Team Challenge

Good morning and TGIF!!
Fridays are always good in my book and to top it off we have a Crafty Secrets Design Team Challenge, YIPPEE! I always look forward to these challenges and seeing what the girls come up with. Sandy & Vicki wanted the challenge to be birds, do anything we want with Crafty bird stamps, cuts, scraps etc.

I bought this wood house frame at Hobby Lobby, I think it was, and I've been moving it around on my table wanting to do something with it. This was the perfect challenge for it, my bird house frame. That's my grandson West or JR, that's what me and pop call him Ü on his first merry-go-round ride. That look on his face....makes me laugh.

I painted the edges of the frame with acrylic paint. I covered the frame with Birds and Blossoms Creative Scraps. I cut out each scrap I wanted to use and trimmed them to fit the frame and adhered them with Mod Podge. I traced each scrap with my tracing wheel to look like it was sewn or quilted. The scalloped edges on the roof, the 2 birds and the circle frame at the top are chipboard pieces from the Sweetchips Chipboard Little Folding House. They are covered with paper from the Radiant paper pad. I put Ranger Crackle Accents in the circle at the top of the frame. All the edges are distressed with Ranger Distress Vintage Photo ink and a blender tool. The buttons on the scallops & bird are from my vintage stash.

See the TWEET, those are some kind of wooden Scrabble cubes, I think. They are shaped like dice with the letters on all sides. I dug into my game piece jar and found the letters to spell TWEET. I was going to go for CHIRP, but, decided I liked the TWEET better - like, oh how tweet, you know in baby talk or what a bird does? LOL!I got the button trim that's across the bottom at Hobby Lobby.
Here's my game piece jar. I pick up the game pieces at flea markets mostly. If I'm lucky I'll find an old game at a yard sale for real cheap!

Make sure you click on the other DT members blogs to see what they've made. It's Marisa's turn to have the $30 gift certificate give away, and Sandy is doing a bird themed give away on the Heartwarming Vintage Blog, you could be a winner!

Autumn Garden ~ Our Craft Lounge

Man, it seems like Fall is winding down, maybe it's
because Halloween is Saturday and all of the spooky fun creating will be over for another year.
Smiley from millan.net
I made a sunflower of sorts, with a pin by Fancy Pants. I painted on some Scrattered Straw Distress Stickles and glued on a brown Dew Drop, ta-dah, a sunflower! I stuck the pin into my lace sunflower I made, like the one I showed you how to make here.

This set is Autumn Garden by Our Craft Lounge. I love the scarecrow. I guess he isn't so scarey, at least the crow on his arm doesn't think so.
I used my Copic markers to color the image and I put some Coffee Bean Crafty Sparkles on the photo corner. The hi is stamped on a white flower tag that I colored with a Copic marker.

I used my tracing wheel to do the faux stitching on the image and my Martha Stewart fence punch for the fence along the bottom. The patterned paper is from a Brenda Walton Designer Mat Pad from Hobby Lobby.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Look at this gorgeous moth! My daughter took this picture last April while we were in Mtn.View at mom's celebrating Jasmine's birthday. It looks so soft and her colors are just stunning! I wanted to pick her up and pet her, but, I didn't. Ü
I have my costume on for Halloween week, my nails are painted black Ü
CSSC91 Halloween mask ~ Crafty Secrets
Good morning, TGIF!
I made a card for the Crafty Secrets challenge CSSC91 over at Splitcoast. Pammyjo hosted this challenge and we had to use a mask in some way on the card.
I got out my Halloween Cotton Scraps and used this cute little pumpkin, he didn't have a mask on, so I made one. I punched out a bat with my Martha bat punch and punched 2 eye holes in the bat with a circle handheld punch. Then I covered it with black glitter. I took a piece of black wire and glued it to the back of the mask with E6000. I used a tiny handheld punch to punch a hole it the image on the pumpkins hand. I stuck the wire through the hole and attached it to the back of the image with Dimensionals. The patterned paper I used is from the Radiant & Earthy Paper Pads.
We only have about a week to use our Halloween goodies and eat the yummy Halloween candy, so have fun with it!
Parka Penguins & Snowy Sayings ~ OCL
I've got a couple of Our Craft Lounge cards to share today. The first is one I made for the sketch challenge over in the OCL challenge forum. Last months winner was ScrappyKy, so this is her sketch. Go check out the forum and play along, you could win an OCL stamp set!
I had fun with this one. I decided to put the Snowy Sayings sentiment in the circle and leave it that way, not using another image. I rarely make sentiment only cards, but this sentiment was perfect for the circle and you can see the pretty Basic Grey paper. The paper is from last year and I only had a few pieces left. I put Crafty Sparkles - Ice Crystals on the grungeboard snowflake.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This card was fun too, the sentiments crack me up! It may be hard to see, the penguin is saying ewww, LOL! I have really had fun with this set, Parka Pengiuns, there are so many cute ways to use it! I put Sparkly Fluff - Sugar on the parka and the trees and the edge of the snowy hills are glittered up with Crafty Sparkles - Ice Crystals. I sprayed Snowflake Glimmer Mist on the card before I added the layers.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What a pretty day here today, it's warming up and the sunshine feels and looks great! I sure wish it would hang around, but, it's not looking good.
Halloween ATC
Hello! I wanted to show you the ATC I made for a small SWAP I'm in with a few of my friends. I love ATC's, mostly because of their size. I put them in my ATC album and I like drooling over them every once in awhile. They all look so pretty all lined up in the baseball card size pages I use. I hope to fill that album up someday!
Stevie our host said we could do any theme we wanted, but, she really liked Halloween. YIPPEE, another chance to use some Halloween goodies!
I used several stamps from different companies on these, my fave little ghost by Anna Wight from Whipper Snapper, a JustRite Halloween stamp from their limited edition set and a tree & cabin.
I used some vellum that I've been hoarding forever called I Do Wedding Collection by EK Success for the ground. The tree and booo circle are stamped on paper from MME called Boo to You. The ATC bases are mini Halloween Bingo cards by Jenni Bowlin. Other supplies are eyelets, Spica glitter pens, Copic markers, tracing wheel, circle punch, black rick rack, Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher & blending tool.
I hope you have a boooo-tiful Monday!
Smiley from millan.net Good Morning!
Another gorgeous, cloudy rainy day here in the natural state. I heard on the local weather that we've had like 3 days of sun this month....I've been popping vitamin D like a mad women, LOL!
I made this card for the Splitcoast Crafty Secrets Challenge CSSC90 Resist. Well, after I got it done and went to read up on the thread I discovered my embossed card was not a resist card. The Make It Shine Challenge CSSC89 was last week...
Smiley from millan.net
The nice gals over there told me to upload anyway!
So, this card will be for last weeks challenge!
I got another chance to do Halloween, I *heart* Halloween, if you didn't already know that, *snort*
The embossed part of this card is the witches legs sticking up at the top. I embossed those with VersaMark and black embossing powder, I colored them with Copic markers and added some silver glitter to the stars.
Supplies: Stamps - Crafty Secrets Halloween Fun. Paper - black, Earthy Paper Pad. Ink - VersaMark, Ranger Distress Walnut Stain, Copic markers. Acces. - Calendar & Travel Creative Scraps, black & silver glitter, black embossing powder, black button, Martha Stewart string. Man, these cards are perfect for this cold weather, I think I need a parka just like these!
Here's my fave little penguins, they are just adorable and you can do so much with this set, Parka Penguins and the sentiment set, Snowy Sayings by Our Craft Lounge. I made a skating scene for this one. The poor little guy with the beanie on isn't very good at it ....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~This card is a mini long card. It fits in a regular letter size envy. I used the Spellbinders Long Classic Scalloped Rectangle Small to cut the card. Just lay the die a little over the edge of the fold of your card stock and run it through your machine. It measures 2 3/4 x 5 3/4.

Have a great, warm day!

Holiday Planner & a give-away ~ Crafty Secrets

Good Monday morning, I think. It might not be so good when I step out to get in my car.....booooo-zeeeeee!!!!!

A perfect day to show you my Holiday Planner/Holiday Open House Guest Book/Christmas Card Journal, what ever you want it to be! This was so much fun for me to make. I love doing projects like this, it means I can really use some bling!!

I used the Crafty Secrets Wood Clipboard Album, Christmas Vintage Postcard Kit and Earthy Paper Pad. I painted the 2 board pieces with antique white acrylic paint and covered the top board with Earthy paper. Sandy had sent some paper doilies quite awhile ago and I got one out and dirtied it up with Ranger Distress Antique Linen ink and a blender tool. I put in on over the paper. I covered the inside of the top board with confetti white card stock to cover the doilie I had adhered to the inside. I covered the chipboard pieces with the papers from the postcard kit. I put Distress Crackle Paint~Clear Rock Candy on the postcard piece, it's all cool & crackly IRL!
I used Grungeboard~Seasonal (snowman, snowflake & ornament) I used Crackle Paint~picket fence & black soot on the snowman. I painted the snowflake with acrylic paint and sprinkled on Diamond Dust glitter. The '25' numbers are by Tim Holtz.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I picked this up at a flea market for $2.00. I remember seeing them in cafe's years ago sitting by the cash register, they would poke the tickets on it. Remember? I thought I could use it for something. Well I decided it made the perfect hemp holder. It could also be used as a weapon if need be, LOL!! Cool, huh?!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~OK, time for the give-away!!

You'll have a chance to win this Crafty Christmas! There is 1 Christmas Vintage Postcard Kit, 1 just released Christmas Creative Scraps and the Christmas Images & Journal Notes booklet!!All you have to do is leave a comment here on this post, along with your email address so I can contact you, that's it!
