another Craft Secrets Vicki Challenge!!
It's a Crafty Secrets DT challenge hosted by our DT leader Vicki Chrisman, I just love doing Vicki's challenges, she gets me thinking, and using stuff I haven't used in a long time!
Vicki's challenge was to use the Crafty Secrets Artsy Alphabet stamp set, I also used the Kitchen Classics set for the border and flowers in the corner. I decided to make a monogrammed recipe set and recipe holder to match. I covered the big wooden clothes pin with paper from the Earthy Paper Pad, I distressed the paper with the Ranger Distressed Antique Linen ink. I sewed linen thread through the buttons and attached them to the pin with glue dots.
I used plain index cards and stamped the scalloped border and flowers on then with the Distress Antique Linen ink. I cut strips of paper from the Earthy Paper Pad and distressed them with the Antique Linen ink too. I stamped some of the S's with Distressed Fired Brick ink and the rest with SU! Bordering Blue ink. I punched the S's out with my 1 1/4" square punch and distressed them with the Antique Linen. I used my SU! scalloped square to punch the background for the letters in SU! Bordering Blue and Real Red cardstock. The card set is tied together with SU! ribbon.

Fall...brrrrrr, spider lily & Halloween decor
Today is the first day of Fall, it's so nice outside.
I was out taking pictures and really enjoying it. But, it reminded me that cold weather is around the corner, and I ran back inside, LOL!!
I was going through my image stash and found this quilt block by Lockhart stamps I had colored. It had all the cut pieces with it, so I put it together for a chilly weather post. I used the pin and sentiment from the Crafty Secrets Sew Special set. The background stamps are SU! Flannel Plaid and Aida, both retired. It is nice wrapping up in a warm quilt in the winter. I have some beautiful handmade quilts in my cedar chest's and a couple I made several years ago on the sewing machine, no way do I have the patients to make a full size quilt by hand!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
While I was outside this morning, I took this picture of a Spider Lily in my flower bed. It does look like a spider laying on his back with all the legs sticking up.....geeez...that gave me the chills just thinking about it, I hate spiders, sorry all of you spider lovers out there, I can't help it!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hurricane, wild witch and a charming pin cushion!
Yep, that's right, it happened here in AR., at my house among others! It started at my house about 2:30 am on Sunday morning. It was so odd, the wind just blew and blew and blew, seems like for hours. I could hear stuff hitting my roof, not much rain, just the strong winds and my power was knocked out. Thank goodness my daughter and her husband were there with me
. My husband was out of town at the time. I went to check it out after daylight and huge pine tree limbs were on my house and vehicles. I have a hole in my roof, a busted up vehicle and tree's all over the place, a freezer and fridge full of spoiled food....ugh. I'm just happy no one was hurt. I'm trying to get back on track, my daily routine has been in shambles, LOL! Oh geeez, I still have to make a list of my food, forgot all about that, another ugh! I'm hoping to get back on track with some stamping soon, WOOHOO!
In the meantime here's a card and envy I made when I was in the Dirty Dozen on Splitcoast Stampers.
I made this in September of 2006, a long time ago, those SU! images are still some of my fave's!!

I also wanted to show you what I got from Laurie over at Charming Designs, she put this on eBay and I won, YIPPEE!! I just love her bird pin cushions and I had to have this little crow for Halloween. I love how she glitters up the pins and uses vintage lace, they are charming
she always finds the cutest things to put the pin cushions in too, like this vintage sugar bowl.

My trouble is nothing like the unfortunate ones in TX. though, my thoughts and prayers are with them.

Happy Moose Day!

I used my SU! border scallop punch and punched the sides of the card and I used paper from my Cosmo Cricket Honey Pie 8x8 paper pad. All of the scalloped squares are cut with my Nesties. The crystals and Georgia Pacific white cardstock are from Wal-mart, the velvet flower is by Maya Road. The coloring is done with my Copic's of course

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I bought this wacky lookin' cat at an antique store. I decided she needed a little help in the bling department, and a new smile! Bunchie was smelling the green flower there, LOL~
Whipper Snapper Tag Time!
I cut a 12x12 piece of orange cardstock 4 1/4" x 12, score every 3", fold it closed accordian style. At the top of the tag card find the center at 1 1/2", draw down at an angle 2" on each side from the center mark, cut with scissors to form the roof top. Decorate to your hearts content!
I just had to make a tag card out of Anna Wight's Whipper Snapper Designs sets, Hocus Pocus and Spooky Expressions. Those smiling gouls are just so stinkin' cute, they make me smile! I paper pieced the images, stamped them again on white cardstock, cut out the smiles and glued them on. I added some Martha Stewart yellow gold glitter on a few of their teeth. I punched the scalloped ovals and stamped them with some of the sentiment stamps for the background.
Ballet Sophie & a morning glory!
I was trying my best to wait for a sunny day so I could take the pic outside, but, that's not gonna happen before Friday! Gustav has decided to park his bad self over AR., we've had non-stop wind and rain for 2 days.....ugh. So, here's Ballet Sophie in man made light!
Isn't she sweet? This is a new stamp from Hanna Stamps that Kristi has generously made available for sale along with eclecticPaperie, all the money made from the sales of this stamp will be donated to The Childhood Brain Tumor Foundation. Ballet Sophie will be released this Friday, Sept. 5. She's a cute, cute image that will be fun for the little girls and ballerina's in your life! So please go on over to Hanna Stamps Friday and order this stamp and support a good cause!
I had a little fun with her paper bouquet and tutu. I gathered up some pink tulle with a needle and thread and glued it down on her tutu. I took 2 pink flowers and glued them in her hand and made a tiny bow and glued it on top of the stems.
Supplies: Stamps - Ballet Sophie and Things Hanna Would Say by Hanna Stamps. Paper - Prism, SU!, Georgia Pacific white, The Paper Studio. Ink - Ranger Distress Walnut Stain, Copic markers. Acces. - scalloped oval, oval, scalloped border and word window punches, Tim Holtz ruler & poker, ribbon, pink tulle, paper flowers, Prima flowers, Dimensionals.
These morning glory pic's were taken a week or so ago, needless to say they haven't opened up in a couple of days. When I was taking these pic's a tiny butterfly landed inside the bloom, in the nick of time for his pic to be taken! These are growing on my back deck. They come up every year, they have done better this year, lots of pretty blooms!
I hope your day is filled with butterflies and sunshine!!
