Crafty Secrets DT Spring Fling Challenge

ETA Pattyjo asked...
That is so gorgeous! When you said a blender tool, I didn't follow you. What is a blender tool and how is it used? I really love the look of the basket picks.Pattyjo
Hi Pattyjo, a blending tool is an ink tool by Ranger. I tap it on my ink pad and then I swirl it around on my image to give it some color. You can put on different colors like I did on my picks. If you don't have a blending tool you could use a sponge, but, I feel I have better control of the ink with my blending tool. I have several of them for different colors of ink.
Good morning!
It's Crafty Secrets Challenge time again. I love these challenges, it's always fun to see what the DT does. I did a tray and basket ensemble for Easter treats or maybe some glasses of lemonade and fresh cut flowers for the basket.
I love taking something I find at yard sales and flea markets and giving it a new life. Like this wooden tray. It was painted a funky green color, so I spray painted it white and covered the inside with paper from the Pastel Paper Pad Then I picked out some images from the Birds & Blossoms and Easter Creative Scraps, cut them out and adhered them with Mod Podge, I painted on 2 more coats to help preserve it. I glued the pink buttons on the side with E6000.

The basket is made from a $1 store folding box and the Best Buds Vintage Postcard Kit. The picks in the basket are made with the Cupcake Party stamp set. I covered the sides and back of the box with paper from the Pastel Paper Pad, the front is covered with an image from the kit. The stamped bird, butterfly and hearts are inked up with Distress inks and a blender tool. I added Ranger Distress Rock Candy for some sparkle.

This is the $1 store box before I altered it.

This is the set that comes with the Best Buds Vintage Post card kit. I love all of them, they are so sweet and full of detail.
Be sure and check out the DT blogs for some fab designs!!

Did you have a good weekend? I did. We went to my mom's and helped her clear out some junk from her shed. They have a city wide junk pick-up every year and everyone gets their junk out by the road. Her shed looks so much better.
Then me and mom went to Batesville to do a little shopping. Terry decided he didn't want to do any shopping, so he went back home. We stopped at a nursery and I got a jade plant and a column cactus. I've been on a cactus kick ever since I saw the huge cactus in Phoenix, they were beautiful! The only thing is I'm having a hard time finding them around here. I used to see them in nursery's all the time, not anymore.

I stamped her again on vanilla, cut her out on adhered her to the couch. Then I stamped her on the pattern paper, cut out her dress and dressed her. I stamped the pillow with the same Ranger ink, cut it out and put it on her lap for the puppy to sit on. I shabbyed up the ribbon with some Vintage Photo ink.

We had some rough storms Wednesday night, lots of lightning. My daughter got hail damage to her vehicle, we were lucky, there were several families that weren't. It was bumping 70, when it's 70 and a cold front comes through, we know it's not going to be good.

I hope you have a great weekend!

Crafty Secrets baby door knob hanger

I've had this wooden door knob hanger for a couple of years and I thought the Crafty Secrets Baby Boy Postcard Kit would be so cute on it. Especially after I saw the sentiment on the sheet I used on the chipboard!
"Don't wake me, I'll wake you" perfect, love that!
I painted the edges of the hanger with my Pearl Paint Dabber, then I covered the hanger with some paper from the Classic Paper Pad. I stamped the stars from the Twinkle Stars stamp set with VersaMark and sprinkled on silver embossing powder and heat set it, the stars really shine! I dug out my metal rimmed tags and layered one
up with a circle I punched with my 1 1/4" circle punch from a Classic Paper Pad scrap. Then I added the heart chipboard that I covered with glitter, then the button and cord.
I love the sweet images in this Baby Boy Postcard Kit, if you haven't tried one of these kits, you should, I think you'll have fun with it!

Love Potion frame and a give away ~ Crafty Secrets

Good Morning!
Booooo-zeeeee, it's cold here, it was 25 this morning, ouch, that hurts!
We have been lucky on the last couple of snow storms, they are going north and south of us, YAY! Although, an insured told me yesterday, that the number of foggy mornings in Aug. determines the number of snow storms in Feb., if thats true we have one to go Smiley from millan.net
I have a lot to share today, so sit back and have yourself a cup of coffee or hot cocoa.
I'm showing you another one of Vicki Chrisman's 3D die frames I just finished. You can order them from Crafty Secrets now!
I saw the cutest flowers on my friend Michele Boyer's blog that she made from a tutorial here. I changed it up a little by using sheet music instead of patterned paper and I stapled all the layers together instead of using a brad and then I sprayed them with Glimmer Mist to give them the color. I really love how they look, I used my Martha punch for the leaves.
The sentiment says "There's a wild little women in each of us", heehee.
I stamped the bottle from the Message in a Bottle stamp set with Ranger Distress Vintage Photo ink and the No 9 with Black Soot. I painted on some Glossy Accents to make it look like glass. The frame background and cut out hearts are stamped with the Cupcake Party set. I didn't see it on the Shop-a-tron site, but, you can contact Sandy about it. Her contact info is on her blog.

Look at this fun image, this image and sentiment are from the Girlfriends Image & Journal Notes booklet.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now it's give away time!!
This is whats up for grabs, the Crafty Secrets medium Mouse Party stamp set, 2 Image & Journal Notes booklets, Childhood and Little Dolls and 6 rolls of American Crafts ribbon.
All you need to do is leave a comment and I'll let Random .org pick a winner on Monday March 1st. EASY PEASY!
Here's my cheesecake card I made with the Mouse Party stamp set. The images in the set are so cute!
Have a warm day!
OCL Golfin' Gramps ~ Armadillo
Look at Golfin' Gramps by Our Craft Lounge, isn't he cute?
I love that we have a gramps to go with granny now, think of the possibilities!
Grandparents cards, mother and fathers day cards, humorous cards and all the other stamps that come with the Granny & Gramps sets, my mind is spinning!
I paper pieced his clothes and the ground on the tag. Gramps is sportin' a goatee Smiley from millan.net I used Platinum Sparkly Fluff for that and his hair. His clubs have Glossy Accents on them for some shine. Everything is distressed (of course) with Vintage Photo ink and a blender tool. I added a few stitches here and there with linen thread.
I made the tag to attach to the box of golf balls, a cute gift for a golfer friend!
You could even use granny as a lady golfer, just use the accessorie stamps from this set with her, how cute would that be?
Supplies: Stamps - OCL Golfin' Gramps, SU! Itty Bitty splatter background. Paper - GP white, Cosmo Cricket Fleurtise, tag. Ink - Ranger Distress Black Soot, Vintage Photo, Antique Linen, Copic markers. Acces. - OCL Platinum Sparkly Fluff, twill, brass brads, SU! tiny clip, Glossy Accents, linen thread. Tools - Spellbinders Labels 8 die, Big Shot, blender tool, Scor-Pal, pinking shears, Creative Memories circle cutter, 1 1/4" circle punch, Martha Stewart circle punch.
OCL is hosting a new Friday Sketch Challenge, go check out the deets at The Lounge, I think there will be prizes involved!!
This little critter was in the flower bed at work yesterday. I was right on top of him with my camera and he could care less, he wasn't afraid at all. He was just rooting around for something to eat. Armadillo's came into AR. a few years ago, I think I heard they came in from OK. They ar e related to anteaters. He's so ugly, he's kinda cute, look at his little pink nose! I've never got to see one this close up, usually they are dead on the side of the road.
Funky looking little dude, huh?
I hope you have a great day!
