Palette paper swap
I made this for a Palette paper swap I'm in, those papers are so fun, I love the 6 x 6 pads with the smaller design for card making!
This is a matchbook card variation, using the slit punch instead of staples. I used the Office Accoutrement set, love all the office stamps, makes for fun designs. I wanted the card base to be mostly white for a clean look. The Riveting stamp For You with Love is stamped on saffron paper and glued to a circle chipboard. I stamped it again with Regal Rose, punched the heart out and glued it on top of the saffron piece. The date on the little calendar is Mother's Day, May 13th, 2007.
Supplies: SU! - stamps - Office Accoutrement, Riveting & Expressive Flexible Phrases. Cardstock - Whisper White, Certainly Celery and Palette DS paper. Ink - Craft - Regal Rose, Whisper White & Stazon Timber Brown. Punches - 1 1/4 & 1/2" circle, slit, spiral & round tab. Acces. pencil eraser for the white dots, chipboard, ribbon, buttons & E6000.

whisper white memories
I took this picture of the dogwood blooms at my mom's a couple of weeks ago. My dad dug up the tree out of the woods and planted in their yard about 10 years ago. The tree is very special to me, since he is gone now. It was gorgeous this year, even mom's neighbors were over to take pictures.
I took this picture this morning. The first blooming bearded iris in my yard. This one has huge blooms and is just beautiful. I can't wait for the others to strut their stuff later on.
I guess most of you know my SCS name is iris. Let me tell you how this name evolved. My dad died in 1999 of congestive heart failure, less than 2 weeks later my brother, my only sibling, Troy died from Glioblastoma multiforma, brain cancer. He went through some really bad times with this cancer after his surgery, seizures, paralysis, he couldn't talk, it was unbearable. The song "Iris" by the Goo-Goo dolls was played at his memorial service. When we got home from Springfield, MO. where he lived, we pulled into the driveway and there was a single white iris blooming in my flower bed, the only flower blooming. As you can probably guess, I lost it, after I composed myself I was in awe.
It was as if my brother was telling me it would be OK and he's here, ya know?
Irises have been my favorite flower ever since, especially white irises.
Yikes, I didn't mean for this be so depressing, I hope you didn't mind me putting it all out there, but I saw this iris this morning and it brought back memories....whisper white memories.
Happy Monday!
OK, the only reason I'm happy is because I have the day off! I've been putzing around, and really enjoying myself!
I got my SU! order and I'm ready to start a swap I'm in with the new Prints Sampler paper pad, I'm lovin' those papers!
I've been working on some birthday cards with my new Cuttlebug cake die that I got from Joy & Daisy at Eclectic Paperie, sweet little cake die! I used the Happy Birthday embossing folder on the background and sponged it with Sage Shadow ink. I edged the cake and paper scallop circle piece with my purple Gelly Roll glitter pen and the candle flame with my silver pen. I tried to get the paper scallop circle piece to resemble a tablecloth for the cake to sit on, I think it worked??
I hope y'all have a Happy Monday too!

sweetest flower
Hi all!
Here is another card using my Green Thumb set by Paper Treyink. I decided to use some Prima's for the flowers instead of stamps. I didn't have the right color Prima's so I colored some with my SU! craft ink. I just smooshed them on the pad and set aside to dry. The yummy velvet rick rack is May Arts, I got that and the Prima's from StarLitStudio. I used my scallop scissors to trim the Regal Rose layer and my cloud scissors, both by Fiskar to trim the SU! Designer paper. Now I need to make a strawberry card
Supplies: SU! Regal Rose, Whisper White, Basic Black & Petals & Paisleys Designer Series Paper, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery and black craft ink and Dimensionals. Prima flowers. Scallop & cloud scissors. Sprinkle brads by Queen & Co. Velvet rick rack ribbon by May Arts.

simple joys
This is another card with my Paper Treyink stamp set. This is the new one called Green Thumb. I'm lovin' this set, it has strawberries....yummah!! I used the tall flower for this card. I stamped the flower and then stamped it again without reinking to get a lighter flower.
I used my new Floral Borders Cuttlebug die set (get the die set from Joy & Daisy at eclectic paperie) for the side piece of Taken with Teal cardstock. I wove a piece of white organdy ribbon through the Cuttlebug piece.
I'm off to visit my mom in the morning, y'all have a wonderful weekend!!
Supplies: SU! So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Taken with Teal & Whisper White cardstock, Designer paper - Petals & Paisleys. Craft ink - So Saffron, Taken with Teal, Whisper White & Old Olive. Saffron brads. White organdy ribbon. Dimensionals. Quickie glue pen. Gelly Roll glitter pen for the teal center flower.

feel better kisses
I made this card for 2 reasons. One, the FS09 challenge on SCS featuring my friend HB. I love HB's work, she always amazes me with her layouts and details! Second, for Val's (11Valerie11) mom who took a nasty fall. So happy to hear she's on the mend!
I loved HB's layout with the butterflies. I didn't have the set she used so I used my Butterfly Kisses by Paper Treyink. I love that you can make soooo many different butterflies with the set, and they are just clean and cute!
I used my Crate - Twirl Collection paper, you can get that from Joy & Daisy at eclectic paperie.
There are crystals in the center of the butterflies, I got those from StarLitStudio.
The butterflies are popped up with Dimensionals. I stacked them on the top wings on the butterfly in the foreground so they would pop off the paper more.
Supplies: Butterfly Kisses & Paper Tray by Paper Treyink. Crate - Twirl Collection. SU! Cameo Coral & Very Vanilla cardstock, Creamy Caramel, Cameo Coral & Barely Banana craft ink, DD glitter, Crafters Tool kit for the paper piercing, celery ribbon, Dimensionals and crystals.

recipe book & card
I finally got to use my new Kitchen Classics stamp set by Crafty Secrets! I fell in love with this set when I saw it in Anna Wights store, Sweet and Sassy Crafts. I used my Basic Grey 6x6 paper pad, Scarlets Letter. I got the paper from Joy & Daisy at Eclectic Paperie. I thought the Basic Grey and Crafty Secrets made a perfect pair!
The detail on these vintage stamps is amazing. I look forward to using them a lot more!
I got the buttons from my mom's stash, I can always count on her and her stash for anything I might need. She has collected anything and everything for years. I used my linen thread to stitch the buttons and glued them on the spine of the book and card with E6000. The yummy May Arts ribbon is from StarLitStudio's store. I used my Colorbox chalk ink to stamp the images, it made them show up better than the classic ink. I used Lisa Zappa's blender pen and classic ink idea to do all the coloring. She gives a great toot on her blog! The first picture is the cover, the second is the inside and matching card. There are three pockets in this book, I covered each pocket with the paper and decorated. The tabs on the side are covered with paper, stamped and glued on. The card is hinged on the spine side and I used my slit punch for the closure on the right and glued a button on it.
Supplies: Notebook from Target. Kitchen Classics stamp set by Crafty Secrets. Basic Grey Scarlets Letter 6x6 paper pad. Buttons. May Arts ribbon. SU! - Fancy Flexible Phrases (For You) Black & red flower eyelets (retired), black brads, Linen thread, Ruby Red, Bordering Blue, Close To Cocoa, Old Olive classic ink, Sahara Sand marker to outline the images, Blender pen, Ruby Red & Basic Black cardstock, Hodgepodge Hardware clips, Dimensionals and sponge. Jet black - Ranger to sponge the edges of the cardstock. Colorbox dark brown and lipstick red chalk ink. Scallop scissors. Crop-a-dile to set the eyelets. Marvy Giga and Mega scallop punches. Creative Memories oval cutter. Dymo label maker and black tape. Corner punch.

Looky here...
We went to visit my mom last Saturday. Mtn. View is jammed packed with flea markets and antique shops. I always manage to hit one or two when I go. We went to a flea market and I got this cute little vintage jewelry box, the wheels started turning as soon as I saw it, I love it Ü It's plastic, no cracks or chips and it's in perfect working order! There are two kittens playing with a ball of yarn on the top. (Hmmm come to think of it, it may not be a jewelry box at all, maybe a sewing box of some sort, does anyone know?!) If that wasn't enough (grin) it's got old clip-on and screw-on earrings in it and pins and pendants. The clip earrings are mostly one of a pair, I have plans for a few of those, I'll upload a picture when I get that project done!

little caddy
I made this little caddy for my sweet friend Lana for her birthday. She is a very special lady to a lot of us!
I found this wire caddy at a gift shop in Branson, MO. It had 2 bottles in it but they didn't have tops so I used Starbucks bottles instead. I filled one with the new polkadot Prima's, love those!
I got them from Joy and Daisy at eclecticpaperie.com. The other bottle is full of buttons from here and there, some vintage, some new. I used my Cuttlebug and flower die to make the chipboard accents for the front of the Prima bottle and my circle punches for the button bottle.
Supplies: Basic Grey Blush paper, lightweight chipboard, scallop scissors, E6000 glue, sticky tape, Cuttlebug, flower die, circle punches, antique brass brads, Prima flowers, buttons and May Arts ribbon from StarLitStudio.
