Crafty Christmas Challenge & a give-away!!!

It's time for another Crafty Secrets challenge! Vicki Chrisman our team leader challenged us to use our new Christmas stamp sets. I used Christmas Joy for this card & candle.

If you haven't stamped on candles before there is a good tutorial over at SCS! This was my first time doing this and the tuturial was super easy to follow!

I know you normally stamp on regular candles but, I wouldn't want to burn it after I worked so hard to make it purdy Smiley from millan.net

So, I went to Wal-Mart and got one of these electric candles, you know the ones that use batteries, they are made of wax, at least there is wax on the outside and it melts with the heat tool and feels just like a real candle, SCORE, Smiley from millan.net oh yeah!!
This is what it looks like when it's turned on, it flickers too!

I used Ranger Distress Black Soot, Antique Linen, VersaMark and Craft white ink, Copic markers, white tissue paper, Classic Paper Pad, SU! Confetti Tan & white card stock, Crafty Secrets Christmas Joy stamp set, SU! felt flowers, rick rack, lace, silver brads, scallop scissors, needlepoint canvas, paper piercer, silver embossing powder, paper distresser, glass glitter.

Make sure and check out these design teams members blogs and see what they came up with!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yep, I'm doing a give-away! It's been awhile since I've done one, so I thought I'd do one with this challenge!
There is a Crafty Secrets Christmas Image & Journal Notes Booklet, a package of Sweet Chips Chipboard, ribbon and a few vintage items and game pieces. Cake pan not included!!
Comment here and tell me what your favorite colors are for decorating for the holiday!
I will pick a winner through Random.org on Friday evening 12-5-08!
Lovely blues :)
My fave decorations were pinecones and gumnuts - so I had a rustic Christmas. In Australia it is usually pretty hot and dry in December and I wanted to reflect an Aussie Christmas. Over time the decorations fell apart, and life has got in the way of making new ones - but this theme of browns with gold and red tinsel was quite effective actually.
Have a lovely day!
I love the traditional red and green but I also love the victorian burgundy and gold. I just love everything about Christmas.
I really love the way you dressed up the candles and how the candle and card coordinate so well together. I will have to check Walmart out for those candles. Sure hate to see all the work used to dress it up melt away.
Cute candle Pam! I have yet to try the little electric candles but have been thinking about trying them out and I think you just convinced me to give it a go!
As for Christmas colors, I really love gold and burgandy. But I have to admit, I saw a stunning turquoise color themed tree at a store and it was gorgeous!
Thanks for your generous give away and I wish you and your family a Happy Hiliday!
Great project. We do our tree every year in blue lights with blue & silver decorations. Every year I think it's time for a change but I end up with blue and silver as I love them!
Thanks for the give-away chance.
The music stamp inspires me enough to place an order with Rubbernecker during their great sale; your stocking card is beautiful! I love traditional colors of Christmas, but every now and then, you'll find hot colors, such as pink and green, on my projects. If I'm lucky enough to win the great blog candy, here's an address:
thanks for the inspirations!!! love the projects. Chrismtas colors?? It's hard to limit myself. Like to use a lot of pinecones (the ones the squirrels didn't eat) nuts and natural things. Colors this year will be orange, green, brown and bronze. Yikes! It works though. Always use the same tree decorations though. what's Christmas without the kids ornaments??
Happy Holidays!!
What a neat project! (And great idea to use a flameless candle).
I like so many of the colors of Christmas that I can never decide on a favorite combo, so for the past 2 years, my daughters and I pick 2 that we will use for crafts...last year was red & white...this year is green & silver (more olive & pewter). And anything sparkly, too!
Love your ideas. I'm going for cranberry and kraft(natural tan)accents this year.We have many heirloom ornaments originally from the homes of our parents.
Sure glad you are feeling better - that's no fun at all. We do our tree in glass/crystal, white and silver - it looks awesome. Most of my other colors around the rooms are muted, soft colors except one bathroom is done in traditional red and green. It's all so fun. Thanks for this opportunity. DianeL loyaz1@wbhsi.net
Those candles are so pretty! I love the look of stamped candles when they are burning, but never thought to use the "fake" ones. Great idea you had. Oh, I love pink and green for Christmas, it's a phase I'm going through.
I like a shade of green that is not quite as dark as hunter green, but not as bright as the traditional green ... combined with a cranberry red....I guess sort of vintagey colors....I just completed a Christmas layout with those colors that included 20some year old photos....and chose those colors with a tan-light brown distressing....but all in all...I love all the colors that the holiday brings!
I like the candle idea too!
Love that candle, it's just beautiful! I still look forward to the bright red and green at Christmas!
Normally, I'm a traditional gal. I do like the red and green of Christmas and the primitive older shades of red and green are probably my favorite. However, I have decorated with different color schemes over the years. One year I even did my tree in purple. It was stunning. This year I have seen alot of browns. Saw a pink/brown Christmas card that was absolutely beautiful so I'm toying with that idea for this year. Happy Decorating!!!!
