OCL Spotlight Set of the Week & some sweet faces

Smiley from millan.net

The Our Craft Lounge Spotlight Set of the Week this week is one of my faves, WOOHOO, For-bitten! Go on over to The Lounge and check out what other ladies have made!

Wouldn't it be fun to have these treats at a Twilight movie or book review party?
Who needs cupcakes when you can have Reeces peanutbutter cups?
I put peppermint candy spinkles on 2 of them, mmmmmmm!
I stamped the images and cut them out with my Spellbinders Labels 4 Nestibilities. I dirtied them up with my Ranger Distress Vintage Photo ink and blender tool. I used my yummy Coffeebean Crafty Sparkles on the wolf, Ice Crystals on the glossy lips and Rockstar Red Sparkly Fluff on the heart and blood drop....ewooo....sparkly Smiley from millan.net

I glued beads around the wolf with Ranger Glossy Accents, I made a bead around the edge
and sprinkled the beads on and let it dry. I cut 2 labels for each one and sandwiched a toothpick between the 2 and glued them together with Zip Dry glue.

We went to Mtn.View last Saturday and took mom to out to eat at JoJo's on the White River, it's beautiful there! After we were done we went out to the deck to look at the river at I took a few shots of Pop and Jaz. Look at those sweet, sweet curls, I would LOVE to have those curls!

Here's a pic I took a couple of months ago. Everytime I look at it I have to laugh. Doesn't it look like they are in deep conversation?! I love it!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hope you have a fun, safe Labor Day weekend, it's supposed to rain all weekend here. That's really bad for the campers and boaters here.
Thanks for stopping by!

Crafty Secrets Postcard Challenge

Smiley from millan.net Smiley from millan.netSmiley from millan.net

It's Crafty Secrets challenge time again!
Sandy challenged the design team to use the new Vintage Postcard Kits. I've been having fun with the Halloween kit, I decided to use the Storytime Kit for this challenge.

I used the kit cover image for this hanger.

I made my hanger Zappy (Lisa Zappa) style using a vintage postcard. I used a couple of SU! flower eyelets (retired) and copper wire for the hanger. The buttons are from my vintage button stash and they threaded with cotton string. Everything is distressed with Ranger Distress Vintage Photo ink and my blending tool. The words Dream & Imagine are stamps in the kit. There is Vicki trim Smiley from millan.neton the bottom gifted to me from Zappy.

Here I used a couple of the chipboard pieces and images in the kit, I used my tracing wheel to get the faux stitches.

This is one of the stamp images that's in the kit. See the glittery pin? I got those from ePaperie, they are plastic at the top and pastel colors. I smeared some glue on it and dipped it in some glitter. You can have any glittery color you want doing this!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Go check out the design teams blogs and the Crafty Secrets Heartwarming Vintage blog to see what they have done, I know you'll love it!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~This is a passion flower vine growing in one of my flower beds. They grow wild in fields around here. It grows a fruit, avacado size, they seeds inside are supposed to be a good for making a tea that relaxes you. I've never tried it. I'm chicken, LOL!
I love the story behind it, you can read it below.
Apparently, an Augustine monk made a sketch of this New World blossom in the early 1600s and brought it back to Rome, where it caused quite a stir. Perhaps coincidentally, perhaps providentially, each part of the flower could be linked to elements in the story of Christ's Passion. The 10 petals (actually five petals and five sepals) represented the 10 apostles at the crucifixion, the filaments represented Jesus' crown of thorns or halo, the five anthers were the wounds and the three stigmas were the nails. Papal scholars immediately declared the flower a divine blessing sent to further their missionary efforts. (from Flower & Garden Magazine)
Have a great Monday, thanks for stopping by!
Crafty Secrets Postcard Halloween Treat Box & Bunchie in a basket
Smiley from millan.net
Only about 2 months until Halloween, my fave holiday for paper crafting! The new Crafty Secrets Postcard Kits are so much fun to use for wall hangers, albums, banners and now little treat boxes!
I got this package of favor boxes at the $1 store a long time ago and never used them. I got this idea to make the Halloween treat box with them. I had to hunt them down in my alterable stuff crate...ugh. The stuff I have in there would last me an alterable life time I think!
I cut the handles off one of them so they wouldn't show, I wanted to make my own handles out of ribbon anyway.
I cut one end off of 2 postcard pieces so they would sit level when I adhered them to my favor box. I did the front and back of the postcard pieces with the papers, stamps and chipboard pieces that come in the kit.I used paper from the Earthy Paper Pad on the sides & back of the box. I stamped the back with some of the stamps that come in the kit.
Here is a sucker cover I made with scalloped & circle punches.
...and a pumpkin girly. I cut her out of one of the papers in the kit and glued her on a piece of card stock for stability and cut her out again. The stick she's on is a recycled wooden sucker stick, I colored it with a black Copic marker. She's glued on to 2 Prima flowers and the stick is stuck in to a wine bottle cork, I started a hole in the cork with my awl. I glued 3 buttons on a stick pin and stuck that through the flowers. Everything is distressed with Ranger Distress Vintage Photo ink.
While I was editing my photos I looked over and saw Bunchie curled up in this basket, silly girl!Smiley from millan.net
I hope you have a great week, thanks for checking in on me!
Terry was outside weedeating one day last week and he came inside and told me to come and look at something. There were 2 little bitty baby bunnies trying to hide in some moss growing on a big rock on the side of our yard. One of the little guys ran off and this little one hunkered down trying to hide. I got several pictures and I even petted him with my finger.
That kinda freaked him out a little and he jumped down on another level of the rock and I got this picture. Look at those tiny ears, so cute!
I hope your Monday is a great one, thanks for stopping by!
fridge chalkboard & the fair
Good morning!
I'm sharing a fridge chalkboard with y'all today.
Some time ago, I was checking out my friend LZ's blog and I saw this chalkboard hanging on her fridge. I thought "hmmmmm, I have a little chalkboard in my altering stash that's been there forever, I'm going to do this, WOOHOO"
I don't even remember where I got the chalkboard, I'm sure it was cheap though. It has ruler markings all around it. I dirtied up the frame and the Scrabble tile holder with my Ranger Distress Walnut Stain. I glued the tile holder on the front with E6000.
I really love Wendy Vecchi's flowers she makes from Grunge paper, so I thought I'd give that try with my Peony Spellbinders dies and Big Shot. I punched the butterfly with my Martha butterfly punch & the tiny heart from a heart punch. The swirls are from Tim Holtz's Grungeboard. I inked up the flowers with Fired Brick and painted on Fired Brick Distress Stickles. The butterfly is sponged with Broken China Distress ink. I stamped the 'don't forget' and cut out each letter and glued them on the top. I added some vintage buttons. Look at this red gingham button, isn't it cool? It looks like there is fabric on the back of it. I clipped the Tim Holtz clip on top to hold notes, coupons, etc.
The rhinestones on the butterfly are from a cheap necklace I bought at a flea market. The buttons are threaded with linen thread. I glued 4 magnets on the back with E6000 and the chalkboard is stuck proudly on my fridge right now! You can get all of the Tim Holtz supplies at Starlit Studio or ePaperie~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We went to the Old Soldiers Reunion in Heber Springs last Saturday night. It's a small fair or carnival type thing. It's been called the Old Soldiers Reunion forever.
I took a few pic's of my grand babies. This is my girls on our way.
This is Jasmine, she's 2, she was not happy riding the merry-go-round.
This is Jr., at least that's what me and pop call him, he looks like he's saying whatsyoulookinat?! The only time he smiled was at the little girl riding next to him, LOL!
We had a fun time drinking lemonade and eating cotton candy!
I hope you have a great day, thanks for stopping by!
I thought I'd show you some pink flower pic's since I'm focusing on pink today. They are called naked ladies or surprise lilies. They grow just foilage in the Spring and the foilage dies down and you think they are dead, then the next thing you know these pretty flowers pop up. No leaves or foilage on the stems. This is a picture of a clump of them in my flower bed.Here is a closeup of one of the blooms. It's just shimmering in the sun light, I hope you can see that!
Have a great day, thanks for stopping by!
