Girlfriends ~ Crafty Secrets

Good Morning!
I'm so glad it's Friday, I'm going to go get my mom and take her to see her new great granddaughter tomorrow. I'm so anxious to see her myself, its been a week, accccck!!
I'm showing you a card I made with my new Crafty Secrets Creative Scraps, Girlfriends. I love this image, hmmmm, wonder what an electric corset does?? Love the colors in the image too. The Creative Scraps make it so fast and easy to make cards, all you do is add some paper and bling and you're done! Well, I added a stamped scallop, I can't seem to stop adding stuff :)
I stamped the scallop on cardstock, then I used the words stamp to stamp inside the scallop, then I stamped the Fleur De Lis over the words and cut out the scallop.
Side note: I looked up Fleur De Lis in my iphone dictionary, I love my dictionary BTW, anyway, it said that a Fleur De Lis was an iris flower, the 3 petals are tied at the top with an encircling band. I never knew that, but, you sure can see it, huh?

Crafty Secrets New Product DT Challenge

It's Crafty Secrets DT challenge time again!
This month we are focusing on new Crafty Secrets product, and believe me there's a bunch of new product!
I decided to alter this frame I got on clearance at Hobby Lobby. I used the new double sided Creative Scraps Birds & Blossoms to cover the frame and the wooden bird in the corner.

The sweet smiling faces are my granddaughters.

I used the new Dahlia stamp set to make my flower bouquet on the bottom right. I stamped the flower on patterned paper 6 times, cut them out and layered them, and then I gave them a good coat of Glimmer Mist. I used a small wooden flower pot, a half of a flower pot I picked up at a flea market. I painted it with Picket Fence Crackle Paint. I painted the inside edge of the frame next to the picture with the Crackle Paint too. It started flaking off, I really loved that look, but, it was flaking too much so I painted on some Mod Podge so it wouldn't flake completely off.

The center of the yellowish flower is a vintage earring. I took the clip off the back with my jewelry pliers and glued it on with E6000.
The wooden bird is from Hobby Lobby. I covered it with the Birds & Blossoms scraps and distressd it with Antique Linen ink.
Supplies: Stamps - CS Dahlia. Paper - Websters Pages Petite Papers Collection Pack Seaside Retreat, Garden Gals & Nature's Storybook. Ink - Ranger Distress Black Soot & Antique Linen. Acces. - frame, CS Creative Scraps Birds & Blossoms, wooden bird & flower pot, Ranger Distress Crackle Paint Picket Fence, Mod Podge, Glimmer Mist Iridescent Gold, rick rack, seam binding, buttons, vintage earring. Tools - paint brush.

OCL Sneak Peek #1 ~ Vintage Traveler

Good Morning!
It's Our Craft Lounge Sneak Peek time! The designers will be showing you peeks at the new sets for the next 2 days and there will be a hop on Friday! I'll give you the details at the bottom of this post. First, I want to show you my first peek, it's from the Vintage Traveler stamp set. I've used 2 stamps for the main image, the tower and the post stamp.
Here's a closeup of the bow and Adage ticket. I crumpled up the ticket, smoothed it out and sprayed it with 7gypsies walnut ink and dried it with my heat tool. The ink is crystals that come in a glass jar that you mix with water. It takes a tee-tiny amount of crystals, I used a tim h. mister bottle to mix it in.

Supplies: Stamps - OCL Vintage Traveler. Paper - SU! vanilla, brown & confetti cream cardstock, Webster Pages Petite Papers Lullaby Lane & Life's Portraits. Ink - Ranger Distress Black Soot, Tumbled Glass, Old Paper, 7gypsies Walnut Ink Crystals. Acces. - button, tim h. Adage Ticket, vintage photo corners, white seam binding. Tools - paper distresser, tracing wheel, Scor-Pal, blending tool, scalloped border punch.

OK - here's the details of the Sneak Peeks and Hop.
**Leave a comment each day on the peeks, August 18th & 19th and the hop on August 20th, 1 winner will be chosen from all 3 posts for a stamp set I'll be giving away.

Halloween Tag ~ Crafty Secrets

Hi there!
Today I'm going to show you a tag I made for the Crafty Secrets booth at CHA.
I love Halloween, the spooky decorations, the scarey movies, the candy corn and the paper crafting!

We used these tags by Tattered Angels for make n takes in the Crafty booth at CHA in CA. I really like them they are a great size and they have the black design all the way around them. I had fun adding the pieces I cut out of the new double sided Halloween Greetings Creative Scraps.

I inked the tag with my Distress inks and a blending tool. I made the little BOO banner with chipboard from Maya Roads Mixed Scallop Mini Triangle Banner Set, that's a mouth full! I covered the banner triangles with Creative Scrap pieces and Scrabble tiles.
I cut out this little game board and added a tim holtz game spinner.
I used 3 of the tickets in the Creative Scraps along the bottom, I love them!

Supplies: Paper - CS Halloween Greetings Creative Scraps. Ink - Ranger Distress Spiced Marmalade, Dusty Concord, Walnut Stain. Acces. - chipboard stars, Crafty Sparkles Eyeliner Black, tim holtz idea-ology, black ribbon, black hemp, Maya road Mixed Scallop Mini Triangle Banner Chipboard Set, Tattered Angels tag, Scrabble tiles, black crepe paper.

BOO ~ Crafty Secrets

Good Morning!
I wanted to show you a card I made for the Crafty Secrets booth at CHA in Chicago.
I used the new double sided Halloween Greetings Creative Scraps. I L*O*V*E the new double sided scraps! They are great for covering large areas on altered items or a background for a card. You need to always by 2 so you can use the images too, you can even cut out 2 of the same image and pop one up on the other for dimension. The non-colored images remind me of old book pages, L*O*V*E.
OK - on to my card....

I used some of the black sticker strips on the side of the card, you can get those from Sandy at Crafty Secrets. They are SO nice, great detail. I used a piece of the Creative Scrap for the main image, I trimmed it with my mom's old pinking shears.

This is the embellishment I made for the card. I used 2 big Prima flowers, I colored one black with a Copic marker. The center of the flower was made with a bottlecap, a punched piece of black cardstock, Glossy Accents and googlie eyes. I squeezed the Glossy Accents into the cap and just laid the eyes on top, they didn't sink to the bottom. I thought it turned out great, they wiggle around inside the flower, ahhhhh, I L*O*V*E Halloween, LOL!

Supplies: Paper - plum & black cardstock, Crafty Secrets Halloween Greetings Creative Scraps. Ink - Copic marker #100 to color the flower. Acces. - CS stickers, Prima flowers, button, black hemp, bottle cap, googlie eyes, Glossy Accents. Tools - Scor-Pal, pinking shears, Spellbinders Labels 8, circle punch.
