vintage clip earring board

Remember the vintage jewelry box I got at a flea market? http://pamhooten.blogspot.com/2007/04/looky-here.html well, I finally got my project done and I'm really pleased with it. I'll be on the lookout for more of these old earrings!!

I got the wooden hanger at a flea market too. I believe it's an old pants hanger, you pull the hook down and the hanger opens, you push it back up to clamp it down on your pants. I covered the front of the hanger with Basic Grey paper from the 6x6 paper pad Stella Ruby, sanded the edges and put on a coat of Mod Podge. The chipboard flower is from the On Board Accents by SU!, I covered it with paper from Stella Ruby, sanded the edges and painted it with Stickles, I stuck it on the hanger with E6000, I LOVE that stuff, I use it on everything!
I cut some chipboard and paper flowers with my Cuttlebug, stuck the paper on the flowers and adhered those to the hanger. I took the clip earrings and broke the clips off with my little jewelry pliers and adhered those onto the cuttlebugged flowers. I stuck some of the earrings on tacks to use on the board. I bought a package of 12x12 cork tiles at Wal-Mart. I glued the big green rickrack all around the tile then I stamped the bottom left corner with SU! Chocolate Chip craft ink using the Autumn Leaves swirls 2 by Rhonna Farrer. I stamped the edges with SU! Rose Red craft with the flower from the SU! Small Sayings set. After everything was dry, I tied some ribbon pieces on the wire on the sides and I clamped the tile in the hanger and now it's ready to use for notes and cards.
I got the Basic Grey paper pads from Joy and Daisy at eclecticpaperie they have the Cuttlebug and flower die too. I got the Stickles and ribbons from Cindy at StarlitStudio the store.
Have a great day!!

Now, if that isn't the cleverest thing ever! I guess I'd better run over to my mom's and raid her closets for some of those hangers!!

Gosh, this is so gorgeous! I sit here in my bedroom everyday and handle those hangers all the time - then spend hours look on-line for something to embellish. I have admired your work and tried to do shabby chic without success.

This project give me a nice country rustic feel and is pretty to boot; no surprise coming from you - but what a treat to see. TFS!
