birthday garden card & paperweight

Smiley from millan.netGood morning!

I hope you had a good weekend and Easter. Ours was quiet, our first Easter with out an egg hunt in a long time, I missed it! The weather was not good for an Easter egg hunt, I'm sure there were a lot of inside hunts around here, it poured all afternoon and cold, brrrr.

We did get our tomato and pepper plants planted Saturday. I can't wait to eat those, nothing better than a home grown tomato on a BLT! Now, we just need warm weather and sunshine, please!!

I made a card and paperweight with the new Garden Creative Scraps by Crafty Secrets. The images in the Garden Scraps are beautiful, so perfect for anything you want to make in a vintage look, my fave! I made the card with the Spellbinders Nestie Curved Rectangles, also a vintage look! I sponged the card with Ranger Distress Vintage Photo, old vintage cards have that brownish look to them, like they've been around for a long time.

The sentiment on the inside is from the Crafty Secrets Garden Girls stamp set. I cut the paper with the Curved Rectangle Nestie, left it in place on the card stock and then I sprayed some Mistletoe Glimmer Mist over it, then I removed the Curved Rectangle and sponged some Vintage Photo on the edges.
I have several vintage paperweights I've picked up at flea markets and yard sales, they do make great gifts and they are really easy to alter. You can get new ones at Photoweights.com. I cut out one of the Garden Scrap images and adhered it to a chipboard coaster, I trimed that and added the flower, leaves, button and gems. I glued my image to the paperweight with E6000.
Supplies: Stamps - Crafty Secrets Garden Girls. Paper - Crafty Secrets Pastel Paper Pad, Garden Creative Scraps, scrap card stock. Ink - Ranger Distress Vintage Photo. Acces. - vintage paperweight, Glimmer Mist (Mistletoe & Iridescent Gold), twine, button, crystal gems, chipboard coaster, Martha Stewart silk ribbon. Tools - SU! Bigz Flower Daisy die, Martha Stewart leaf punch, Spellbinders Mega Curved Rectangle Nesties, Tim Holtz blending tool.
I hope you have a great day, thanks for stopping!
