clothes-pin bag

I went to my daughter's in Conway a few weeks ago and I stopped at a junk shop I'd never been in before. There was an older gentleman puttering around inside. Stuff was stacked to the ceiling! Dust everywhere, you could tell they had been there forever, it was kinda creepy really, LOL! I could have stayed in there all day, after I told myself he wasn't an ax murderer, (snort) But, I was kinda in a hurry to see my babies Ü Anyway, I saw a door to another room and I asked him if there was stuff in there and he said "I'm afraid so", cracked me right up! That is where I found this old clothes-pin bag, the kind the ladies hung on the clothesline to hold their clothes-pins while they hung their laundry. I snatched it right up, brought it home, took the bag off and washed it. I decided I wanted to use the Crafty Secrets bird from the Homespun Cotton Scraps - Flowers. I ordered them from Anna at Sassy & Sweet Crafts and went to work. I sewed the buttons on the eyelet ruffle and I glued the ruffle to the top of the bag with Fabri-Tac. I sewed some more eyelet ruffle around the bird image, sewed the buttons on the corners and glued that on the front with the Fabri-Tac. Then, I sewed the buttons on the corners of the bag. I want to do something on the wire hanger, just haven't figured that out yet.

Here are the clothes-pins that were in the bag. The wood is worn smooth on them from many years of use. I wonder who the lady was that worked so hard hanging out her laundry? I wonder if she would approve of her bag now.

I'm off to see my mom tomorrow. I hope y'all have a wonderful weekend!

Uhhhhmmmmm... I have one of those clothespin bags and it has clothespins in it just like those. It's been awhile since I've actually hung anything out on the line, but they're still out there in my back yard.

Love what you did with yours.

Gee, I have a couple of clothes pin bags I bought at the grocery store that are pretty drab and worn out already. This is a GREAT idea for making a pretty one! Who would have thought you could stamp a clothes pin bag and make it pretty? Peg

Those clothes pins remind me so of my mother. Every Monday when I walked to school my mother would already have done all the sheets and they would be out on the line. Now my Mom was creative but she would not have spent time on a clothes pin bag, however, if she had one that looked this pretty she would have loved it.
This is so lovely, you just have to use it in your stamping room.

Oh my gosh -- your bag is gorgeous!!!! What a great idea!!! Your story made me chuckle, however. My clothespins look exactly like the ones you've pictured, and I use them as I do hang clothes outside. Mine are in a basket, not a bag. A thing of the past for many, I know, but not for me -- LOL!!! Great project, great story -- thanks!!!
