cuppie calendar & vintage playing cards

I got my cuppie calendar supplies in the mail from taylored expressions! I had so much fun looking at all the goodies in the box. You can go see what you get at Taylor's store to make the calendar, everything you need, stamps, calendar pages, page protectors, and stand. I plan on showing you a page for every month this year, it will be fun to make these, the cuppies are SO cute!

The stand comes unfinished, so you can decorate it how you want. I spray painted mine with white paint. I tied this yummy ribbon on (it's 1 1/2" wide, so pretty) and added the paper flowers to the top. I paper pieced the cuppie, I'll do that with them all. I attached the main image with 2 foam dots, when the year is over I can take the images off easily and make cards.

Supplies: Stamps - taylored expressions A Year of Sweets 1, Paper Trey Butterfly Kisses (flower), Crafty Secrets Altered Art ({ }). Paper - 2009 calendar pages, blue & white card stock, Memory Box Holiday Greetings patterned paper. Ink - Ranger Distress Black Soot, Copics, atyou Spica glitter pens, SU! Night of Navy & Bashful Blue Classic ink. Tools - Nestie scalloped square, Martha Stewart punch.

I was flea marketing a couple of weeks ago, imagine that *snort* and I spotted this little cigar box, it was little bitty, I've never seen one like this, so I picked it and opened it. These old playing cards were inside, SCORE!

They look like they have been well loved!

I love the backs of the cards, great designs and the images on the cards are so fun and vintagy!

Look at these, Scary Harry and Corny Carl crack me up!

I can't figure out what this deck is, maybe a match game of some kind?

Here's another Old Maid deck, they are nursery rhymes.

I don't know if this Rook deck is really old, but, I love the crow holding the cards in his foot.
I hope to use these in some altered art, I just need to figure out how I want to use them, any suggestions???
We are supposed to have some icy weather the next couple of days, YUCK! Hopefully our power stays on!
I hope your day is warm and ice free, thanks for stopping by!

You find the coolest stuff!
I am thinking the one set of cards are for traveling. You look for matching signs.

I think the set with the Speed Limit sign is meant to take along on a road trip. The person who finds the most things that match the cards wins?????

Oh I just love your blog. The love banner you made this week is amazing! I love this cigar box also. I had those Old Maid cards long ago~ if I'd only hung onto them. Thanks for the trip down memory lane~ and for inspiring me and so many others. :)
